Everyone Get Ready For The Weight Stall

I was looking at the 8 month mark for the September 2005 people that gave the idea for our weigh ins and I just want to let everyone know that a lot of us are near their averages now. I always look for someone my weight and BMI and then measure that average so people who have less or more to lose don't change the average for me. The average for a person my starting weight and BMI only lost 95 lbs. I am at 84 and I am just a little over 5 months out. Thus, basically I don't want to be depressed when I only lose 11 lbs in the next 3 months. This also goes along with the diet tracker chart for high weight loss expectation. Others should check out the Sept 2005 link from their 8th month http://homepage.mac.com/totalriot13/SeptemberAverages.htm I haven't seen a new one yet for them to see where they are now at month 11. These charts help me when I get depressed about stalls. But I know we are supposed to go with 12 lbs. a month. Those of us that weigh the same and are losing different amounts --- I have seen some months we do better and some we do worse but, we all catch up to each other. Hugs, Sandy

My NUT gave me a projected weight loss based on my starting weight of 169 and my surgeon's goal of 170. Here's what she said I "might" loose to get to my goal: Month 1: 20 lb Month 2: 15 lb Month 3: 12 lb Month 4: 10 lb Month 5: 8 lb Months 6-8: 5 lbs each Months 9-11: 3 lbs each Months 12-14: 2 lbs each Months 15-18: 1 lbs each I see how the weight loss tapers off. This gave me a more realistic look at my weight loss. I realized it was not going to fall right off. If I do my math and I assume I'm 6 months out (will be on the 13th), I should have lost 70 lbs. I've actually lost 82 so I'm ahead by 12 lbs. Maybe that means I'll meet my personal goal of 150?!?!?!

Hi Sandy, Thanks for sharing this info because I was getting a little discouraged because my weightloss has slowed to about 1-2lbs a week. It's good to see that I'm right on track for my beginning weight range. Now if I could just make it into the Onederfuls by my 6th month I'll be really happy. Sylvia

Thanks for taking the time to track down this info... It really helps me to see where I stand in the jist of it all. I was getting VERY frustrated but when I look at what others have done, I realize what everyone is telling me is really accurate... I am on target... - Terri

I am slowing down as well i have lost 10 pounds the last 2 months but i am ok with that. im still losing but so far this month i am stalled again. i used to get upset about it btu now i just see it as what happens. In all reality ifi were to stop losing right now i would be happy with where i am BUT we all know i wont stop imonly 6 months out so i still have a lil hope but i really only want to lose another 40 pounds if i can. but yea stalls are so on the horizon. j
