Having trouble getting protein? appetite, yukky
seems as if I am losing my appetite lately instead of gaining it. Has anyone had that problem. I have had to add protein to my yogurt for the first time the last week or so in order to get enough protein. I just dont seem to have any appetite I just plain dont want to eat and when I do it seems as if I get yukky feeling. and my blood pressure is dropping.
I've been having a problem getting in all my protein too. I just don't have an appetite! I struggle every morning with trying to find something I want for breakfast. The first meal of the day is always the hardest for me because I just don't have an appetite. And my first meal of the day always makes my tummy feel yucky...kind of nauseous regardless of what I eat. This past week I really slacked off on eating the proper amounts of protein and I could really feel it. I started to feel tired so I had to go back to protein shakes. For the past couple of days I've had a protein shake in the morning to give me a head start. It's helped, I don't feel as tired.
I wish you the best Rie Rie! I know it's hard some days but try to get that nourishment in any way you can so you stay healthy.

Sylvia,
I've ALWAYS had a hard time eating first thing in the morning. Solids just don't sit well at all. I've found that EAS makes a low carb, low calorie premixed coffee flavored protein drink. It has 110 calories, 3 carbs, and 15 g protein. I have one each morning for breakfast. I got a 4 pack of them at Big Lots for $2.49. I bought all they had!

I have been having not much of an appetite either, I think part of it is due to the extremely hot weather we were having recently. I say just have a protein drink or something, just so that you make sure you get the protein you need. I take a 24 oz plastic shaker bottle, and put two scoops of my protein powder (I do Syntrax Nectar - 23 g/scoop) and fill it up with water and add a bit of ice, and there's almost 50 g of protein, I drink it on my way to work, and then an hour or two later if I'm feeling hungry I have some low fat string cheese and maybe a little fruit. Good luck Rie Rie
I too can't eat much in the AM, but I have a huge bag of low sodium sunflower seeds on my desk and in my car and in my purse. I munch on those all day, it's a very small amount of protein, but it adds up for me about 9 grams per 1/4 cup.
I can tolerate them
I know it's not a meal and probably still too much salt, but it's what works right now.
I've tried no salt nuts of different kinds, but they just didn't sit well, I think the crunch and the salt helps.
