I am NOT hungry. Is anyone else having this problem? I am having to FORCE myself to eat lately. And I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting enough calories because I am just totally not in the mood to eat at all. Which is really strange for me.... I have a doctors appointment this coming Monday. But I was wondering if anyone is having appetite issues? Hugs! Liz

Hi Liz, I actually feel hungrier. Maybe it's something else that's causing the lack of appetite? I have read though, on another forum, that some people "force" themselves to eat or forget to eat. I can't imagine forgetting to eat...well I guess I could see it happening to someone who is super busy & constantly on the move with work, kids & such. EAT you need the "fuel" for you're body. Elisa

It could be the heat. I have to set my alarm at work to remember to eat my snack. I didn't want dinner tonight. I had to force myself and I ended up having a cold protein drink. It's so hot here too.

mmmmmm. Mashed potatoes with gravy sounds nice. Mabey I'll make myself some. If I remember correctly, it's one of the foods I CAN have. I'll have to look at my paperchase again. Gosh

I have been having a hard time when it comes to eating lately also. I think that the heat may have something to do with it... It seems like I have either been eating horribly bad or not eating at all. Who can tell but darn, I am really getting tired of it ! -Terri

I saw a nice cold soup recepie on tv the other day that may be just the ticket for us on a hot day. Take frozen peas and cook them until they're just blanched(so they keep the bright green color) Cool them down and put into a blender(visiualize whirled peas/ world peace) and season with salt and peper. If you're a little more adventurous(sp) you can add a dash of tabasco. Now you have a nice tasteing base for a summer cold soup. In the article I saw they reccommended putting it in a martini glass and garnishing it with a mixture of lump crab meat, avacado, cilantro, onion and lime juice. I don't know about you, but it all sounds like something we're allowed to have (if you haven't gone back in for surgery), and light, cool, and healthy, and you don't have to feel left out of what the rest of your family is having, 'cause it seems like a real treat. Gosh-that sounds so good. I have been thinking about you-and missing you. It sounds like you went thru a very rough time...thank God you are okay now. Are you recovering okay? You had a long hospital stay...I bet you are glad to get out of there and be home. I had to go back for a second surgery a month after, and stay it the hospital for a week and it really sucked. Now anytime I get some pain or something I freak out that I will end up in the ER again. I think that's the worst part because mine came on SO SUDDEN. Were these complications from RNY?

I really don't know. I had horrible IBS before I ever had RNY, and some people feel it may be related to that, while others say no, it's the weight loss surgery. Grrrr. Very hard to deal with. When I was at the hospital I was both tired and restless. I like having my people around me and not being poked and prodded all the time. I miss real food. I haven't ever progressed passed the soft food stage because of my strictures. I was within a week of being able to when this happened. *whine, whine, whine* I AM glad to have lost such a huge chunk in so short a time, but my husband thinks I look gaunt and my energy is nil. *sigh* Gosh
