Weird Changes?

Hey everyone!! Ok, well I'm not trying to be negative here but I was just wondering if anyone else has experiencing odd changes in their body since wls. For example: I now have a super dry scalp problem! I kept noticing everytime I brushed my hair (when wet) that little white stuff would surface. Then I took a closer look and I could see the dryness right at the hairline...ewww! Overall I think I've noticed my skin is dryer than before. The usual hair loss. Hemorroids - I think, not sure if I have them but the signs tell me I do. Well its not as bad as it was before when I was really it's gotten better. BTW, the Smooth Moves tea works!! It's the best thing I've found to cure constipation. Well thats all I've noticed so far. How about you? Don't get me wrong I AM VERY HAPPY I HAD WLS but these changes were unexpected. I rarely read about them being a problem as a pre-op. Elisa

Really the only changes I have notice have been the hair loss, and that I get bad tummy aches before I have to go to the bathroom (bm)...

Hi Noel, glad to know you aren't experiencing too many weird changes. The hair loss is the big thing for me right now...but everyone tells me don't worry it will grow back! Elisa

gee. I seem to get the tummy ache prior to a bm, almost the feeling that I want to throw up, once I go it's fine, but if I wait I feel like I need a bucket at the same time LOL. xosm

I have started taking Vitamin E on a daily basis to help out with the dry skin. Although it is Spring/Summer and I am usually a bit "Dry" this time of year but I think that the reduced fat has had an impact. Hair... My beautician says she sees no sign of hair loss other than the typical season change loss... The bathroom stuff--- Hmmmmm is horrible though. I have been using the Magnesium Citrate but still wish that I didn't have to wait til the point where I am hurting so... ( I need to get my act together and take it every couple of days instead of waiting so long I guess...) I am able to stay awake past 730 pm so that is a positive thing ! I used to come home from work, grab dinner and crash so... Like you Elisa, I wouldn't trade this journey for anything but some things were unexpected. Not all in a bad way, just unexpected ! - Terri

Terri, I've also noticed my energy level is better now. I don't nap as frequently and I feel up to doing more during the day. I see it as a bunch of little things we have to deal with but all worth it at the end. Really it's deal with these little things or the things we used to deal with as MO people. I know I feel much better that I don't have to struggle to clean myself in the anymore (sorry TMI) but it's true!! Elisa

I'd look at your FidDay fluids, Terri, and then plug yourself into the thinnerself chart or I think there's even another water requirement chart I have around here somewhere ... compare what you are actually getting versus what you need to keep your body running like a well-oiled machine, you'd be surprised. My high target for fluids is 111 ounces! Right now I'm at 70ish [today 85] but I do find a big difference with my eating when I'm doing right by my fluids. Not to mention that I read that fat gets excreted in the likes of sweat and pee and other voiding, so the more fluid you give yourself, the easier the outlet would be [in my unscientific opinion]. xosm

Hey Julieeee, cracklin oat bran huh? I should get some to keep regular. You know about the emotional thing. I think everyone is going to go through that at some point of the journey. I haven't yet but I'm not going to say I won't. A lot of things are changing for us so fast it's no wonder we become emotional and tend to feel abnormal. I hope you feel better soon cause you are right you do look GREAT! Elisa
