Three (+) Months
I went today for my 3 month (well a little longer) check up. I had a couple of surprises. Number 1: I actually weighed 258 on the day of my surgery. How did I not know that?? Today I weighed 198, so I have lost 60 lbs. Number 2: I have LOW blood pressure. It was 90/50 the last time I went to my PCP and today, after a stressful 3 hour drive, it was 110/60. I have not taken medication since three weeks after my surgery. In fact from the 9 meds that I was taking befoe WLS, I now only take 1 for RLS.
Dr O was very pleased with my loss. I complained that I thought I was losing too slowly, but he said for my age and starting weight, I am doing fantastic. He wants me to shoot for 150, so I only have 48 lbs to go. SO I guess.... if he's happy, I'm happy. I don't know if I'll be content with 150, I'll see when I get there.

So, here's the deal, Elisa. I started out being 5' 1" , but since I have lost 54 lbs, I am 5' 1 1/2" . Who knows, I may turn out to be skinny AND tall.
Seriously, before I developed degenerative disc disease, I was 5' 3", and with the loss of each disc I lost height. Seems some of the loss may have just been compression from the extra weight. I'm not complaining.....My six foot tall son calls me "Stubby".
