CONSTIPATION...
Ah, yes, ... poopie problems! Many of us seme to have them! I use a Fleet enema once a week to clear everything out, and that helps alot. Sometimes, I feel like a baboon with a heavy butt, and I hate that! So I resorted to using the enemas. I don't think I couls stomach the horrible taste of magnesium citrate without heaving, it tastes like bile with bubbles. I had to take it several years ago, and pojectiled it almost as soon as I drank it! A very brave person you are Terri! I'm going to try the Senokot Syl, I used that years ago, and I may try the special K protein cereal as well. I love Special K, but am avoiding carbs. I've been taking two chewable orange Fiber Choice tablets everyday since before surgery, but still have difficulty. I usually "go" every two or three days, ugh! I did notice that salad helps me go every other day. So I will also increase the salad intake. I know my constipation has to do with not having enough liquid and fiber. I guess I better be careful not to increase ALL of these at once orI may end up with more than I bargained for! Thanks for the honest dialogue, it helps sooo much to have peers!
Irregularly yours,
Rebecca
Terri,
I feel for you guys. Man! I have the other issue! I had IBS, which was mostly corrected with this surgery, but sometimes....especially if I drink milk, it is horrible! I couldn't imagine going a day without GOING.
I have gone from about 15 bm's a day....to only about 3, so that is a HUGE improvement!
It is kind of ironic......but when I take my pain meds (which normally constipate people), it would help to slow me down........but now that I don't have to take them much, it has picked up again at times. Kind of funny how one thing affect another and you have to keep on making changes.
Glad you found something to help you!
