The hair loss thing again

Double-whammy here... I was reading the "possible side effects" of my thyroid medication (levothyroxine). One of them is hair loss for the first few months of starting the medication. I've only been on this med since February. Oh well, I'm not complaining I'm just sharing. I didn't even catch that the first time I read label for the side effects because I guess I wasn't too concerned about it like I am now. Is anyone else taking a med with this side effect? ...Hey where is everyone? I haven't seen many post...must be celebrating . Elisa

Hey Elisa , I am still here, been having a rough time of it, I hate eating now, I do I positively hate it, sometimes food gets stuck anyway even if I chew good and wait five mins in between bites and I just hate the having to wait to drink and I wish I didnt have to eat! lol It is becoming such a pain in the...u know what! I am so glad your relatives were so nice and that you had a great visit, maybe they just wanted the best for you and are happy now to see that you are so happy? Glad you had a great visit! Hugs Peg

Hi Peggy, I'm so sorry to know you are having such a rough time with food. *hug* Have you called your doctor about this? Do you think you might have a stricture? It sounds like it to me...but I wouldn't really know. I've just read how people write about this problem and it ends up being a stricture. Peg I hope you feel better soon . Elisa

Hey, Elisa, I am out celebrating! Well, I'm at my parent's house, actually. We had a picnic and I had a buffalo burger. YUMSTERS! And buffalo goes down so much easier than beef. SERIOUSLY!! So, that's my two cents. Oh, and I started losing my hair, too, but not because of thyroid meds. B/C of the surgery. *sigh* I'll just wait out the wave. *sigh* Good luck to you with your hair loss. Grouchetta, No, I didn't have the bun. I won't touch bread, not even for toast. I'm too afraid of it!! But it was still amazingly delicious! It was probably the softest meat I've had since filet mignon! If you ever come across it, buy it. Don't stop and look at the price, just buy it. I tell 'ya, you will love it! Jen Halliday

If I remember right, thyroid problems in general can lead to thin hair, so maybe [hopefully!] your thyroid levels will even out with the meds and it'll thicken again ... also everyone on the main board says the hair loss from the surgery is only temporary ... at any rate, you have a beautiful face - I bet no one notices you have less hair except for you! xosm

Hey at least I don't scare kids and that's a good thing especially with me wanting to teach and stuff. And you are right no one really notices but me. Silly me. How was your weekend GG? Weekend? Hmm, Friday I had my 3 month check up and Jessica [my daughter] and I went to Walmart and then I took her to the indoor play place at McDonalds. For some reason I can't remember Saturday ... I guess we didn't do much? - I think we just went to the playground when DH got home from work and then ordered Chinese food. Sunday we sat hours of traffic and paid $8 to park at the not-so-close-to-home beach to see a Blue Angels air show but the parking lots were closed off AFTER we paid [I think something like 250,000 people showed up!!!] and some how we got turned around and ended up driving all the way home to go to the beach that is about 3 blocks away and play in the sand LOL. I LOVE the beach and I could sit there for hours - even better with my two favorite peeps [DH & DD] ... the weather was picture perfect. Today I spent, no lie, about 3 solid hours cleaning the bathroom from corner to corner, floor to ceiling. It hasn't had a proper cleaning [read : GG is *NUTS* and breaks out the magic eraser, toothbrushes, bleach and baking soda oh, and I unscrew the faucet handles so I can clean INSIDE them LOL] since before my surgery cause I didn't want to get down and dirty with my wound issues, and just didn't feel up to kneeling on the tile floor ... hubby said he wants to bring his pillow in there tonight to sleep, it's that clean! Too bad it'll be a wreck again by tomorrow;) I wonder if that counts as exercise ?? Just another day at the ranch ... How about you, Elisa? Any fun weekend tales to tell? xosm
