I don't know about you guys, but I will eat the same thing for a while, get sick of it, then move on to something else. Lately I've been into meat and cheese wraps, with a whole wheat low-carb tortilla. But I am getting sick of them now.... What are your favorite foods and this stage?

I'm on a beef jerky kick. I make it myself. It has 14 g protein and only 70 calories per ounce. I eat at least 2 oz a day. I'm also eating a lot of thin sliced turkey. Oh and (insert drool here) I LOVE to have two single tortilla chips dipped into spicy cheese salsa stuff.

OMG I used to LOVE beef jerky. No problems digesting it? That sounds great and it's much less expensive to make it yourself, huh?

I don't have any problems at all digesting the jerky I make myself. I have the butcher slice the meat really thin. And, when I weigh out my ounce to eat, I cut it into small squares with my kitchen shears. That makes it easier to chew and digest. When I was buying jerky at the store, I was paying like $16 a lb for it. I can make it for under $10 per lb. And, it tastes better than anything I've bought.

I've been eating a lot of salad with chicken and sometimes cheese on it. It helps me be more regular. - Dannon light and fit with fiber - low fat baby bell cheeses (50 cal, 6 g of protein) - 2 Nectar lemon tea protein drinks - lean cuisine ravioli (everything else makes me sick except for ravioli) I just got this really great magazine about eating healthy and has good recipes also, really nice format. It's called Eating Well, www.eatingwell.com. I have made the black bean chilaquiles in it, they turned out great, lots of fiber, 9 g of protein and 240 calories per serving, and even my kids loved it.

My 3 months app. is tomorrow, and I can't wait to get the OK for salads. Do you feel like you can eat a lot of lettuce? Someone said it was mostly water so don't be freaked out if you can eat a big salad...even though with mine there probably wouldn't be much lettuce...lol Thank you for the great website! There's so much on there I'd like to try.

The funny thing is salad is the ONLY thing I can eat where it feels like I can eat a HUGE amount of it, and not feel full. The first time I thought. There has to be something wrong here, I just ate a TON of salad. But then I realized that lettuce and tomatoes are mostly water and maybe that's why it's so easy for me to eat and digest. You're welcome for the website, I like Cooking Light also, but eating well is more focused on health and nutrition in my opinion, not just losing weight.

Hey there, Kayla. Well, I eat weird things. lol I do the same thing...I eat something for a while and then I am tired of it, and then go on to the next thing... My favorite thing right now is a supreme taco from Taco Bell. I do make them myself...I LOVE tostadas. i buy the flat shells, and put on refried beans, and 2% cheese, and sometimes ground beef or a little chicken, and salsa. Once I was able to eat salad stuff, I put lettuce and tomatoes on EVERYTHING! I find that I CRAVE veggies. Last night I made a chicken gumbo...it was fabulous! I ate leftovers for lunch today. I will have steak and baked potatoe tonight. I eat a lot of baked potatoe with cheese and sour cream. Here is a typical day's menu for me...give or take... @ 8am: vitamins w/8-16 oz liquids meal 1 @ 9 am: 2 pieces of bacon, small piece of fruit (or about 2-3 spoons of malt-o-meal) @ 10 - 11am: 20 oz liquids (goal) Meal 2 @ 12:00 noon: Protien (either chicken, beef, or summer sausage), and veggies (green beans, carrots, squash, zuccinni, etc) OR on a salad with ranch and either a couple of crackers or 3-4 tortialla chips, or 1 tbsp rice, or some baked potato. @ 12:30-3:30 pm: 20 oz liquid (goal) I usually drink MORE during this time, because I am working out at Synergy! I go acros sthe parking lot to Taco Bell as SOOn as I leave, because i am so hungry from working out for so long! It is intense! Meal 3 @ 4 pm: 1 Taco Supreme from Taco Bell @ 4:30-6pm: 20 oz liquid (goal) Meal 4 @ 6:30pm: 2 oz steak, or grilled chicken, or fish, etc....with baked potatoe w/2%cheese and sour cream (or 1 TBSP rice and veggies) @ 7-8 pm: 20 oz liquid Meal 5 @ 9 pm: 1-2 oz 2% cheese, w/turkey or ham, w/ 4-6 wheatable crackers @ 9:30-11:00pm: 8 oz liquid Meal 6 @ 11:30 pm: protien shake (Slim Fast carb control) ******* that is one of my typical days....I am getting so much better at eating more foods. For the longest I couldn't eat chicken, but finally I can. whew! Hope that helps! Sandra 395/320/150-ish RNY 03-13-06 -75 lbs!

Sandra-you have wonderful variety in your day. The taco supreme sounds SO GOOD! It's funny you mentioned the veggie thing. My angel CRAVES veggies all the time now too. Did you crave them pre-op? Do you usually eat them cooked? I am not really eating any veggies, but I have my 3 month post-op tomorrow, he'll give me the green light for salad. I had some last week and I was fine though. I can eat anything without dumping or getting sick, which makes life a lot easier!!! Take care, and thanks for sharing!

Thanks....right after surgery, i didn't have very much variety. I was throwing up any kind of meat at all....except for ground beef. Now, I can eat a variety, and it does me so much better. I didn't crave veggies before surgery. i did eat veggies though, so now i think my body is missing them. I do eat my veggies cooked! I can't tolerate them very well raw......I had IBS before the surgery....so raw veggies, much milk, and thinks like that don't do me well. I don't get sick from much.....but my meat has to be well cooked, and cut into tiny tiny pieces....and very moist. I HAVE to eat some sort of base....potatoe, rice, chip, cracker, or something like that with my meat, or I get sick. the rice has to be over-cooked......and only 1 TBSP, and I can NOT handle breads. If they are toasted very crunchy, I can handle a couple of bites, but it really isn't worth my time. I can handle just a few noodles, of pasta. Sugar is something I can NOT tolerate. SF fruit pops, and SF fundge bars are WONDERFUL!!!!!! I eat them intermitently all day long, and expecially at night. Good luck on the F/U tomorrow!!!!! You'll be so glad to eat salads
