My hair started falling out a few weeks ago. So when I went to have my hair done this time, my hairdresser cut it even shorter than usual. She made more layers. She says the hair loss should be less noticable. I can tell you it's really easy to take care of at this length. I wa**** run my fingers through it, and go! A better picture is on my profile near the bottom. Tell me what you think. Be honest!

Hey Terri we really are twins--I was going to post about my hair falling out but got caught up writing about myself. Guys, I hate this . I am losing hair like crazy. I can see my scalp even more than before . I had very little hair to begin with and now with this happening I am starting to worry. I want to cut my hair also but not too short. I have always liked having medium to long hair. My hubby loves my hair and says I shouldn't cut it short but I just don't know what else there is for me to do . I hope this does stop right before I go completely bald. Elisa

I have lots of hair but it's baby fine. I used to wear my hair past my shoulders but this past summer cut it short and LOVED it. This new ever shorter look is easy to take care of. I'm glad my hairdresser suggested it. The curl and layers will distract from the thinning hair (I hope). All we can do is ride it out!

Elisa, are you taking biotin? It is very cheap and you can get it at GNC. I have been taking it since day 1, because I read about the hair loss thing on here before my surgery. I already have very thin hair! I don't want to loose anymore. I haven't noticed any falling out. I did get my hair cut shorter, but I always do...with any major life change.......when i did, my husband said...ARE YOU PREGNANT??? I said, no, why?? and he said.......you cut your hair off! lol I need to add some new pics, but I don't know how to. lol If you do, please tell me so I can add some. Thanks, Sandra

Well, I bought a bottle of biotin at GNC but I haven't started taking it. Does it make a difference on when you start? The only thing is I'm not sure how much to take. The bottle says 600mcg (seems too little in comparison to what I've read others take) and to take a tablet a day. How much do you take? I'm going to get a haircut tomorrow--I'll try to post a picture and see what you guys think. Oh and here is some info I read today about how to decrease hair loss: " Due to the changing levels of protein and vitamin levels that occur during the weight loss surgery process, some patients may notice thinning or loss of hair. This is usually a temporary condition which improves after the active weight loss period is complete or approximately 12 to 18 months after surgery. It is important to be sure you are getting the recommended amount of protein and vitamins daily. The following combination, in addition to your daily multivitamins, has been recommended to help slow the rate of hair loss: Zinc chelate: 15 mg daily Copper chelate: 1 mg daily Silica: 20 mg daily Vitamin C: 2,000 mg daily Flaxseed oil: 5,000 mg (1 tbsp) daily Vitamin A: 5,000 IU daily Supplements should only be taken for 30 consecutive days." Seems to me like a lot of supplements to take. I think I might just stick to the biotin... Elisa

That does seem like a lot, Elisa! How are we supposed to do all of that, AND eat our food? lol I don't think so. ok, as for my biotin.....I bought it at GNC. the product # is 00285811 It is Biotin 2500. It is a little grey bottle with white and blue writting. If you just give the counter person the product number, they will find it for you. It is $14.99, and there are 60 capsules, and you only take one a day...so it is 2 months....and some times they have them on sale .. buy one and get the 2nd 1/2 off. it is 2500mcg a day, so it is a great source....and much higher than what you bought. If you haven't taken off the protective coating, then iw ould go and exchange it. hope this helps! Oh....and it can't hurt to start taking it now! just start taking it! sandra
