I am wearing size 22-24 and they are getting so baggy. I know I need some smaller clothes and just cant figure out how to buy them. I mean that I look at the smaller size and think I cant fit in that, and I dont want to waste my money, I think save it until you get thin. When should I buy some new clothes and when will my eyes be able to tell what size I need. So should I wear my baggy clothes until they fall off? I should I guess .but it doesnt look good when I go somewhere when my clothes are all baggy.. When did you start realizing that you was getting smaller? Do you know what I mean?

Sadly, I'm not really getting much smaller like a lot of you have mentioned - however I do know what you mean! I read a bunch of profiles where folks said the same thing. I've been wearing stretchy pants and tees since I got preggo, and 150 pounds later I'm still wearing the SAME pants [talk about STRETCHY]. I plan to wear them until I can fit into the stuff I have in the basement [a looong way off as it's all smalls and mediums and size 12 juniors in jeans]. HOWEVER - I think it's probably a really important part of the 'process' of transforming and ACCEPTING our OWN transformation for you to at least go shopping for one or two outfits that you can feel good in NOW. I think part of feeling good is looking good, for most people, and YOU DESERVE to feel and look your best. Grab a girlfriend and take a mall trip, make a Saturday of it! And don't just LOOK at the smaller clothes, TRY THEM ON. Even if it's just one size smaller and even if it's an inexpensive pair of pants or a skirt and a top, ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE NOW. xosm

Hey, I started this at 26/28 and just 50lbs lighter I'm 18/20. The inches thing is working so much better than the pound thing. Clothing was literally falling off. I don't want to spend my life away, and can't afford it. I've gotten some things at thrift stores, and walmart, etc. You have to have a few basic things, that fit, just to get along. Get a pair of black pants, with belt loops, and a belt. That way too big shirts can be tucked and cinched. Get a pair of work out shorts, with a drawstring. Good for around the house and when you don't have to go to work. Get a pretty dress that has a tie in the back, to make it smaller. You can dress it up or down to go out on a date, or just to feel pretty. Just get a couple of basics to get you through. Stuff like I'm suggesting could probably get you through a few sizes. HTH Gosh

I'm the same way. My husband finally insisted that I buy new clothes. I've bought a few new things but most of my clothes are from Goodwill. I try everything on before I buy it too. Otherwise, my eyes say "ain't no way your fat ass is gonna fit in those small clothes!" I'm in size 16 now and still can't believe it. I bought new undies today ... size 7. I was like OH MY GOD! I haven't worn size 7 undies in over 20 years! I found myself going to the plus size department at Target today. My husband grabbed my hand and steered me toward the normal sized clothes. LOL

Hi Marie, well I know what you mean about not wanting to waste money on clothing. I went shopping Saturday to my fav. store (fashion bug) and boy, was I beating around the bush. I looked and walked around the whole plus size section. There were lots of neat stuff (on sale) but I was so reluctant to buy anything--even though I need to cause I'm hating the baggy look. Everytime I picked something up--I kept hearing a little voice "This isn't going to fit you in a month or 2...and $20 for a t-shirt?" lol--yep I'm cheap. So I almost left the store without anything but felt bad because the sales lady was probably going to think I was suspicious ...but on my way out I saw some cute t-shirts and I bought 2. I figured once they get too big I can give 'em to my sis or my mom. I also bought 2 bras. They are so cute! One of them fits perfectly now--the other I'll have to wait to get 4 inches smaller--so that's my next goal. So my advice (sorry I rambled on...) is go for it and buy a thing or two, it sure does feel good to buy a smaller size. Elisa
