EGD and dialation, today.
Hello to all,
I'm a little tired, so please forgive me. I have been having a problem with my stricture, for quite a while now, and I finally went in, today, for my EGD and dialation. When I woke up the doc said that my opening was half the size it was supposed to be .
I was just so glad that it could be fixed, and that it was a function of my new physiology, not something I could've helped, that I was actually crying about it. My coordinator and rny surgeon kept telling me to wait it out and it would resolve itself, if I just gave it a chance. I think 11 weeks of waiting proved them wrong, not to mention all the hardship I went through. Vomiting when I tried to eat, or only being able to eat liquid, puree, and pudding, etc.
I'm so glad it's over. My GI doc, that did the dialation, said he wants to go back in, in about 2 months if I don't have problems sooner, to make sure it didn't close up again. I have to be on soft foods for three days (an improvement from what I have been having), and then I can go to a regular diet again.
I am so ready to do this thing right, and now that my tool's ready too, I'm on my way. Look out world, onderland is in my future.... and deli meat...
Gosh
