I wish I could sleep, but...
My husband is driving me nuts! lol
He is in pain, and doesn't want to take the pain meds...BECAUSE IT MAKES HIM SLEEPY!!! OMG! Isn't that the point????
He is walking around complaining that he can't sleep, but refuses to take his pain meds until he is really hurting so bad he is shaking.
I am afraid that if I fall asleep that he will get up and start roaming around the house and get himself hurt.
It is so hard to take care of someone when they aren't a good patient. he thinks that all of his pain should be gone...less than one week post opp! Give me a break! He has NO idea of all that I have been through with all of the surgeries I have had. I wish I was more compassionate about it all, but I really would rather tell him to suck it up and stop acting like a 4 year old.
Thanks for letting me vent, guys...it is good to have a place to go and blow off steem, and get over it, so I can keep on keeping on taking care of him.
I hope you are all having a wonderful evening......HOPEFULLY SLEEPING! hahaha

Tell your DH that if he doesn't get rest and get rid of the pain, he is not going to heal. The body needs restorative sleep, not fragmented. ALso, when the body is in pain, the nerves to the affected area are rattled and until they are settled down by the pain meds, the body cannot mend. I tried to be all tough and not take my meds in the hospital until my nurse expained this to me. I took them faithfully after that and did not let myself get into severe pain. My incisions healed nicely and I had no complications. Make him take the meds. Man are babies anyway when it comes to pain. But he does need to get some rest.
