Hi there everyone! Today is my first day on this board...why??? I don't know. It never occured to me to check for a board that would have people that all had surgery around the same time and I did. I had my surgery on Feb 13, 2006....the day before Valentine's Day. I had my 10 week follow-up with Dr. Rodriguez last Thursday (the 4th), and he said I am doing good. I wanted to check in with all of you and see how you guys are doing and get to know some people that are at the same place I am...or somewhere around there. In 2 1/2 months I have lost 60.5 lbs. I only measure once a month...so I won't measure for this month until the 13th. As of last month, I had lost 2 inches off my neck, 4 inches off my bust, 6 inches off my waist, 4 off hips, 3 off of each thigh...etc. I workout 3 times a week at Synergy. It is a GREAT rehab place that has a special program for bariatric patients, and I have had 2 previous back surgeries, so they help me with that, and my knees as well. On the other days, I walk, mow the lawn, etc. I am much more active than I have been in over 7 years. It hasn't even been 3 months yet, and my life has totally changed! I look forward to getting to know you all better! Sandra 395/335/??? RNY 02/13/06

Hi Sandra! W*e*L*c*O*m*E to the February Forum. GUESS WHAT? We had surgery the same day! You are doing really well, Congrats. I'm glad you found us and decided to join us. This is a great forum with lots of friendly people. Make sure to get in the monthly weigh-in that Grouchetta started--she'll probably let you know the details if you want to take part. Again, welcome and hope to see you posting often. Elisa

Oh don't be envious...I wouldn't wish my start-weight on anyone! 47 pounds is awesome!!! I am more amazed by my clothes...I am down a full 2 sizes! The most amazing thing is that I am able to be mobile now. I was confined to bed before the surgery. It is so wonderful to be out and about again! You are very beautiful! You're going to be dangeroous at goal! hahaha. thanks for the welcome....sandra

Hey Sandra, For me the whole weight/ size thing is messed up. I started out 26/28w and now 18/20w, but 'only' 47lbs. WTF. It doesn't make sence, but is sure is nice to be able to see the change. Being off of all the meds is a wonderful thing, for me. Instead of carrying all the meds, and cures, I now carry vitamins and supplements. Thanks. You make me blu****'s amazing what a beauty school hairdoo, war paint, and the Walmart photo studio can accompli**** takes a village. Gosh Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver.

Welcome Sandra! I also didn't know about the Feb. surgery board until Eliza told me when we corresponded on the main messageboard. Now this is my favorite spot. I learn lots of things that are relevant to me right now. I looked at your profile, I like the pics you posted. Congrats on your weight loss. It sounds like you are being an excellent post op patient- exercising and taking care of yourself, good job! Everyone is really wonderful on this board. We're glad you've decided joined us! Thanks, Rebecca! I am trying my best to treat the surgery as a tool and not rely on it to do all the work. I always said if I could find someting to help me loose a lot of weight quickly, so I could be active again, I would never put the weight back on....and now I have my chance! Thanks for the welcome! ~~~WELCOME Sandra~~~ We all love it here on the Feb board. It is easier to relate because we are all at the same stage in our journey. You are doing great. I too have chronic back pain, but it is getting better with each loss. I still have to pace myself. I told my DH I'm not in good enough shape to feel this great! The exercise pays off though, I have to pick up my workouts. I have lost 45 lbs, but I want to get to a personal goal of 50 on my 3 month point. I only have 11 more days. Stick around, you will get to enjoy this more and more! Patricia 250/205/145??
