Topic: RE: 3 Months out and 121 down!
Irene, sorry I can't help on why you are liking the carbs so much more. I can't stand carbs since my surgey, don't ask me why but potatoes taste aweful. I haven't tried pasta or rice and have no desire to. Just remember that protein is so important for you and you need it to stay healthy. I find that after I eat my protien I have little room for anything else. Focus on getting your protein in first and it should help you stay away from carbs easier. Good Luck. Dana

Topic: 3 Months out and 121 down!
I am new to ObesityHelp.com and I am looking for support out side of my regular support groups from the hospital. Just wanting to know if the things that are going on with me are normal around this time or if my body is just weird. I am now able to start adding carbs into my diet and my body is loving them more then the protien. I am still having a hard time keeping some protien down. The veggies and fruit I am not having a problem with nor am I having a problem with the starchy carbs. Why is my body excepting the starchy carbs and not the protien that I really need. I find myself sitting around and thinking about how good those potatoes or other carbs are, and I am not even hungry. Could someone help me get through this hard time, and is anyone else going through this also?

Topic: RE: Almost 3 months out! -39lbs
I am 3 months out and have lost 57lbs which seems low to me, but I have not gained any and continue to lose, so I am happy about that!!! The type of surgery I had was RNY-proximal which means they bypass less of your intestine than with the distal version. I think this may have something to do with some people losing faster than other? I am able to absorb more than those that had distal. Anyway, I am happy to be losing!!! Kelly S

Topic: RE: Average daily calories?
Thanks for the input everyone!! I know this is not my board or my thread but thanks for letting me butt in! I have been wondering the same thing about calories and it is something that usually doesn't get talked about! I am 9 weeks today and average about 400-600 most days. I have not added a protein drink in because it is 200 calories and I wasn't sure if I should. I think thanks to all of you that I am going to try it and see if it helps me! Gotta love these boards....such a help! have a great day all!!

Topic: RE: I'm afraid I'm not getting enough food
Hi Vicki, My surgery was 2/08/05 and I can't get anything but soup, cottage cheese, pistashcios or yogurt to stay down. I have had many scans and tests to check for problems but none there. I have vomited everything other then these things listed from week 3 to presently and I am dealing with nausea on a daily basis. I sure hope it doesn't affect our weightloss. I've lost 39lbs so far, I'm not sure if I was eating properly it would be anymore. Feel better.

Topic: RE: Advice on Hair Loss??
I know what you mean about hair loss. I am in my 3rd month out and am starting to lose a LOT of hair. I have waist long hair so it is really noticable hair all over the place. I wi**** would stop now or wondering if I should be saving all that is falling out for a wig (Ha, Ha). Take Care Cheryl
