Gosh Katie, You are doing so great I am 3 1/2 months out and down 63 lbs. I just went 3 weeks with no loss, I hope I am back on the losing side now. I really try and stick to only eating my 3 times a day, but I usually have a little something else. I can only eat about 1/2 cup of food at one sitting, unless it is salad or soup and then I can eat more. You are so lucky you haven't had any cravings. I have had a few. I have to fight them off and hope they will go away. I get so mad when people suggest WLS patients took the "easy" way out, but there is nothing easy about this process. It is a constant decision to eat right and make good choices. Mary M.

Hi Maisy: This is what I eat during the day - B- Yogurt - Snack - banana with peanut butter (1tsp.) Lunch: small salad w/ protien Snack- protien drink- (nector) Dinner: 3oz fish w/ 1 oz veggie I have lost 49 1/2 lbs in 12 weeks - I'm allowed carbs but I am a junkie when it come to carbs so - I just don't eat them and I always get my water in a gallon a day. I hope this helps you out - keep doing what your dietican told you to do for the stage you are in,and walk or do some kind of exercise it will help. And remember don't be hard on yourself if you don't keep the numbers going down, our bodies are changing very fast. On days I don't feel like cooking for myself I drink all protien drinks and do my snacks. Take care - deb k.

Oh cool! Now you're out in the Island. I think that is everyone's dream. Over here in SOP. Maybe it's because we're so close to the Island. As for me this summer I'll be spending my time down south in KY. I'm going for training to becoming a Flight Attendant. I'm going to be living one of my childhood dreams Have a great weekend Maria

I've gone for my 3mths . And my surgeon said to continue eating 6 x's each meal has to have a source of protein. at least 3 to 4 hrs apart this way our metbolism will not stall . plus I really don't know how u can squeeze 70 to 80mg of protein in just 3meals.

Topic: RE: Temperature changes
I haven't experienced this myself, but my surgeon said that as you lose fat, your body is flooded with the extra estrogen - all of that extra hormone can lead to hot flashes. Most people do get colder after surgery (like me! Brrr....) and it sounds like you are too, but are then experiencing some of those hormonal hot flashes on top of that. I don't think there is much that can be done about it, but he said it would go away (along with the moodiness, which I *did* get ) by around six months after surgery. Congrats on the 76 pounds!

Hi Meta: Congrats on your success. You're doing very, very well. I've had some heat surges as well. Thought they were maybe the start of menopause but I guess they could be wls related. What I've noticed more of, though, is the cold. Because I've never been the person who was too cold, always too hot. So it's a surprise. I guess lots of ice water would cool you down. Sorry, no other ideas. dorthe

Hi John, Where did your wife find the cook books for WLS. I've been in Border's and Barnes and Noble. I haven't found any. I'd love to get one. I need to spice up my menu. Thanks, Maisy
