Topic: Stretch your pouch
Hi I had surgery in February and I continue to be afraid that I am stretching my pouch. I have gone from 1/4 cup to 3 or 4 bites and I am usually full after 4 bites, but I want to lose 15-20 pounds a month and I am not sure if I have stretched my pouch. I am sure that no one feels this way but I had this surgery to lose the weight and I am just afraid that I will not be able to lose all the weight I have to lose (at least 120 more!) So if I have stretched the pouch is there anything I can do to "shrink" it or something like that?

Topic: RE: How much can you eat?
My surgery was 2/15 and to date I've lost 59 lbs. I average about 2 lbs. a week. breakfast - 3 oz. yogurt or protein shake lunch - 4 oz. of chili or pork n beans snack - wheat pretzels or cashews dinner - tuna or some sort of beans snack - breyers sugar smart ice cream I really don't get in as much protein as I probably should. I really got sick of the protein shakes, but on my doctor's advice, I've started them up again.

Topic: RE: I'm back from my 3 month checkup
Congratulations Dana. I just had my 3 month checkup as well. Down 57 lbs. and my blood work was right on too! I rec'd the explanation of benefits for the blood work over the weekend and I couldn't believe it was $938. Thank God I don't have to pay it.

Topic: RE: Protien.....HELP!!!!
Hi: I love the South Beach meal replacement bars. They taste pretty close to rice krispie bars, they're easy to carry around, and they've got 20 grams of protein each. I know what you mean about protein, though. It's a struggle for me, too. I keep reminding myself that I'm a work in progress and every day I try to learn something more about my new lifestyle. Good luck. Sounds like you're doing really well. dorthe

Topic: RE: Hiccups
Maura I used to get hiccups ALL the time prior to surgery...now I only get them occassionally I asked my PCP and he said that before I was breathing through my mouth and intaking alot of air...that is why I had them before...now (I have gone to breathing classes) I am breathing through my nose and the air is going to my lungs and not my stomach...so less frequent hiccups Dont know if I believe this...but it works for me!

Topic: RE: How much have YOU lost and are you normal?
Yeah...I guess I am in the same boat as Mary...that sounded like a good idea until I did it ! I should have lost 70 lbs by now...however, I have only lost 56 lbs. So what am I doing wrong ! I go for my 4 month check up on June 16th! I just know that my surgeon is going to look at me ! Sigh...
