Hi, I am new to this web site. I am looking for some help.. Since my Lap Band surgery on February 11, 2004, I have been having chronic diarrhea. My life is pure hell. I have lost about 36lbs since then.
I have been to my Internist, a Gastroenterologist about this. I had a Colonoscopy to determine if I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but that was a negative. I have been using Immodium for the diarrhea. It is the only thing that works, but then I will get severe constipation by the end of a week.. I am just wondering if any one else has been having this problem.. When I went for an adjustment on my band, I spoke with the Nurse Practioner, and he said that "it has nothing to do with the surgery", but I can't believe this. He told me also that I could eat anything I wanted, as long as it was in small portions, and to eat very slowly.. I have been doing that all along..I am at a point of frustration right now , that I am thinking of having the procedure reversed.
I just can't go on living like this.. I have driven home with such lower abdominal cramps, that I thought I would die. I also am having upper GI problems, where I feel the food is just staying in my esophogus. I end up having to throw that up, which takes sometimes a very long time.. I am in extreme pain throughout this ordeal..
I have given up my social life, and have had to cancel appts. due to being so sick, I can't leave the bathroom..
PLEASE, if anyone has had this experience, let me know if you have come to a solution.. Thank you. Patricia

Topic: grouchie pouchie...
YUK! I don't know what's wrong with me right now....but I am having a terrible time getting anything other than liquids in. Its just started the last two days. Does anyone else have a grouchie pouchie? Does it come very often.....and how long does it last? I had a small problem at the end of April w/ a beginning of a stricture...and was dilated on May 9th.....I have felt wonderful since then.....sure hope its not a stricture coming back.

I have lost 57 pounds and what a difference it has made in my life.
288 pounds + my 57 pounds = 345 Total

I have read....and mind you it may not be right....that it is very rare for the stomach to be stretched so quickly...meaning in your three months...you would have had to have done a whole lot of over eating to stretch that baby....lol. Dame Tooter posts about this quite a bit on the main message board...you might try your post there where there are more "oldies". I think you are probably okay though. 3-4 bites is really nothing. Don't worry so much.
