hi all.
hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend. i simply had to get on the boards and share with you. my boot came off. my bicycle saw a couple short rides this past week. then, as of yesterday, i became a motorcycle driver.
some of it came back to me - i almost totatlly tore out my rotator cuff in a cycle safety class accident about five years ago and hadn't been on a cycle since. some of it i had to be re-taught, and some i still need to learn. but i went around the block a few times yesterday, practicing my braking, shifting gears, acceleration... and hope to do more practice today.
my two daughters and i start safety class a week from this monday and i'm so looking forward to it. they're both fairly tentative, too. i think that's a good thing.
before wls i never, ever, ever thought i'd ride a cycle again, much less try to drive one. what a difference a year makes. i've been kinda stuck at my weight for awhile now but hope it starts to move again as i start to move again.
just had to share. have a great rest of the weekend.

Topic: Can anyone besides me use some accountability?
Hey fellow Feb 2005 losers. I'm 45 lbs from my goal weight and the weight loss has really slowed to a snails pace. A few too many carbs are sneaking into my diet and I really need some accountability. Is anyone else feeling this way too?
What can we do to aid and support one another? None of us wants to backslide as we all worked so hard to get to where we are now. We have now entered the hardest faze of our journeys....for must of you it is maintenance. For me I still have to get there but am facing the same issues.
So what do you say?

Susan,
Your posting could not be any better timing for me!
I agree that it is very difficult to actually realize where I am now and what I really look like these days. I feel wonderful too and have lost all my comorbitities too.
I just had a friend tell me today that I have changed over the past six months. I don't see it or feel it.
Yes, I am now more energetic and happier to be around. Is that a sin these days?
Well, thanks for the posting again. It was exactly what I needed!

First off congratulations Susan on completing your PS, I'm jealous, j/k, but I sure can't wait til it's my turn .
I still deal with some self confidence issues, it's a lot better but I still have to work on it. As for friends and/or acquantiences, I've only been in the situation once and I feel it is more jealousy than anything. I've been told I'm different, but I disagree, I still go out of my way to help others but I do allow time for ME also. We have to, our lives are changed and it's very important to take care of ourselves.
Try not to let one bad apple spoil your success and happiness, you've been through alot and deserve try happiness....focus on that and enjoy yourself.
Hugs,
Dana
