Hey There!
Well, it's now been 5 years since we had our surgery - how are you doing?  I have gained about 30 pounds over the last 3 years, but am still doing great and loving every minute of every day!

Well I am going to start the 5 day test and see if that gets me any were. I have been trying to be very good and eat protein first and sticking with no sugar with me that is not my problem it is the carbs. I really want the DS and i am working on getting that but until i can afford the 4,000 bucks i will keep trying. I don't loose anything i stay the same all the time. I go from 285 to 290. and that is it. I really want for once in my life to get under 200 lbs. I am tall 5 9 but i still think this is not unreasonable for me. my goal is 165 170 but we will see if that will happen. I just want to feel good again and be able to walk a flight of stairs or play with my kids and not get tired. I felt this before i had the RNY and now I am right back there again. So I will keep trying and someday I will make it. With or without the DS. Even if I have to get the RNY again.

thanks for letting me rant.

good luck to you.

I didn't have any thing other then the 60 lbs that I gained and cant seem to loose. dang any way I do love my little one very much and his 1 year birthday was today. All my labs were great and I did eat allot of pro and veg and fruit. I however do not have the dumping on candy and I did eat allot of it. so if you can stay away it is so hard to loose the weight. so anyway congrats try not to worry that put a strain on you and the baby. I know that is easy to say I am not in your shoes but Think positive. and hope all works out for the good. I will keep you in my thoughts and if I can help u any more just let me know. I would start taking prenatales now I take them all the time even when I am not pg cause they have great vit in them. Congrats again.

I am pregnant now and very nervous because I had the surgery 3 years ago.  I have gained 5 to 8 pounds in the past month even with exercising but not getting sick or over stuffed feeling when I eat like I was.  I found out I am 5 weeks pregnant and weighing in at 175 when I had been fluctuating at 163 to 167.  I weight 276 before my surgery and lost down to 153 but then stayed in the 160's range.

Now that I found out I am pregnant my progesterone levels are showing to be low and I had already increased my iron in the past week before I knew I was pregnant.  How was your pregnancy?  Any complications or things I should be aware of?  I have three healthy girls from before my surgery and I was very strong in all three pregnancies.  Now I am worried because the dr wants to put me on progesterone pills.  I read the paper that came with the pills and it says not to take if pregnant and that it could cause cleft mouth, palett and other things to the fetus even miscarriage.  However, the dr prescribed it so I wouldn't miscarry.  I am so confused.  I am calling the dr tomorrow because she didn't call me friday with my other blood test results to see if my progesterone is stronger.  However, I am only five weeks according to the blood test results.

Let me know if you have any ideas that will help me.

I thought these symptoms were normal.  I do this once and a while right after I eat but I eat a peanut butter sandwhich or some beef jerky and it stops.  I thought it was because of sugar levels but I wasn't sure.  However, that works for me.  I would get the shakes and feel like if I didn't get something in me I would pass out or worst.  However, I am 3 years post op and don't get it quite as bad now.

Topic: Pregnancy after Gastric Bypass Surgery!
Hello! I need help.  I have questions about pregnancy after surgery.  I am  3 years post op and have done really well.  I began gaining about 5 to 7 pounds and not getting sick when I eat.  I have been exercising four days a week and thought well maybe it is muscle mass.  I wasn't feeling well in my upper body so I took a pregnancy test.  It was positive.  I went to the Dr. and she told me that my progesterone is low at about an 8 when it should be a 10.  I had increased my iron prior to finding out due to the fact I was a little low in iron.  I had been around a 9 to an 11 and I should have been a 12 or above.  Now I am worried because the doctor put me on progesterone and I am calling her tomorrow because it says not to take if pregnant.  I am waiting on her response to the second blood test she took to see if the progesterone is still low.  I am very nervous about this and it seems that everything is fine right now.  I have a little pain now and then but nothing major.  She did tell me I was about five weeks pregnant from the first test she took last Tuesday.

Anyone had a baby after they had surgery?
