Topic: RE: 5th Month, How is it going for you?
Hi all!
I am Kristin and I am new to this board but was curious to see how my surgery twins were doing. I had surgery on 2/15/05 and am down 112lbs. Went from a 32 pant to a 22 or 18 depending on the brand and my tops are a 1x or XL depending. I am loving life! 64 pounds till my personal goal. No problems with food or drink, except I have no appetite. Most days I have to force myself to eat enough and my hair is falling out big time! No regrets! Feeling wonderful!

Topic: RE: 5th Month, How is it going for you?
I can't believe it's five months today since my surgery. I'm down 75 POUNDS! I don't see much of difference from my life pre-op....except that I don't eat as mu*****uantity anymore. I still feel sometimes like I eat too much, but I know it's just my mindtrips.
I can eat just about anything, just have the discipline to gear towards healthy foods. I prefer to keep carbs in my diet to keep it as close to a healthy diet as possible. It works for me, and besides I've been on the carb diet before and the aftermath was not too pleasant for me.
I still don't see the difference when I look in the mirror. Just feels nI jice that I can walk into a MACY'S or ROBINSONS-MAY and actually fit what they have on the racks. No more visiting the "BIG GIRL'S STORE" anymore...if I didn't want to. I still feel much more comfortable at FASHION PLUS than FOREVER 21, though. Something about a size 5 being considered an XL ...ummm..it makes me feel bad!
By the way, if your going to peek at my profile I have to warn you that there's lots of photos so make sure you don't have a dial up connection!

Topic: RE: 5th Month, How is it going for you?
hello to one and all:
i'm finding it really hard to believe it's only been five months. so much has happened since early february. but here goes -
i've lost little over 100 lbs but have no idea how many inches. the clothes i was wearing have gotten looser, but i was pretty well stretching the size 30/32s i had in my wardrobe.
my eating is going all right. most of the time i am able to stay in the guidelines of wls. i still have trouble not drinking with meals. sometimes i still sip a****er, but i'm doing better.
the exercise is coming along. i'm still at 340 lbs so, even though i'd love to be running, jogging, biking, etc... realistically i can walk. so that's what i do. i walk faster, i walk more, and i use my orthodics to make sure the plantar fascitis doesn't become an issue again.
i thank God daily for this chance at a new life. i'm actually closing in on 50 years young, too, so i look at this surgery as the first chapter of the second half of my life.
and i'm very pleased to have each and every one of you to chat with on these boards. your support and info has been invaluable and i know i will continue to drop in here frequently.
thanks to all. have a great weekend. hug someone you love.

Topic: RE: Plateau Buster Needed
Shelaine, I was just coming to post the same...Tues it will be 3 weeks I am at the same weight. I have a pilates and do it everyday sometimes twice. I have been using my pilates for 2 months now and I lost weight so I doubt that is the reason for plateau. I tried changing my diet last week but no change in weight. This week I'm going back to just protein drinks and soup and see if that helps. I had a UGI yesterday and found out I do have a very small opening to my tummy that needs to be stretched. Barium went through okay but then the dr gave me this horse pill (barium) to swallow and it sat right there without going down. Not looking forward to having this done but I have been vomiting whenever I try to eat anyone other than mush.
If you do find something to break plateau please post it.

Hi folks -
Nice to see everyone is making such great progress! You are all kicking some butt!!
I'm down 70 lbs since surgery, 109 since I decided I was going to look into WLS. My tight 22's & 24's have been replaced by 14's and 16's, medium tops and even smaller shoes, jewelry and glasses!
Up until the past few days - I would tell anyone that asked - I would have this surgery every single day if I had to. The past few days have been bumpy... but combined with the heat wave we've been having - and nauseating humidity... I'm pretty sure it's NOT the surgery - but the environment that has been leaving me feeling so crummy.
My hair has stopped coming out in handfuls - but the 'bruise factor' has increased. My boyfriend remarked about matching bruises on my thighs the day before yesterday... I had to think for a moment, but I had been sitting with my elbows on my legs for a staff meeting... not being beaten in the conference room!
Hang in there everyone! You're all doing great!!
