Topic: RE: What the heck???
Hi, Sharon! We must all be normal (whatever the heck normal is!?). I have noticed that I can eat more this last few weeks, food now tastes pretty normal and I actually feel hunger now. Dr Garth said this would happen at the 5-6 month mark, so we are on schedule.
Yesterday I had....
B - 8 oz choc moo-topia (milk) with scoop of protien powder.
L - 3/4 slice of deli ham
S - one piece beef fajita meat, refry beans w/cheese and 5 chips
I also had three 8 ozs cups of sf hawaiin punch w/protien added
That is a pretty typical day, I reckon. I use fitday.com to keep up with my eating. It helps me saty on track.
Hugs, Susan

Sharon,
Your fears are not just your own. I feel this way often. I am eating about the same amounts and it scares me. I think that I am comparing what I was able to eat right after post op, which was very little. Now I can eat about 1/2 of a quarter pounder without the top portion of the bun. It seems that I can eat about 1/2 of a portion at a restaurant, or about 4 - 5 oz of protein at a sitting.
I have noticed that I am able to get my liquids in easier than ever these days and that very little gets stuck.
My appetite is also increased a few days before my time of the month and I seem to graze more than I should at that point.
I hope that this is normal and I am glad that you posted this question. Maybe we now will see where we fit into normal. I don't want this tool to stop working. I am not ready to settle for this 70 pound loss! I want more! (I sound like a brat at this point)
Good luck!
Diana

Topic: RE: questions for fellow Febs
I don't follow any routine. I try to always eat my protein 1st. Some days I'm still not hungry at all so I still force down protein drinks. As for the blood work, I go in next week to have it done. If anything, I think my iron might be low. Otherwise I feel great.

Congratulations. My scale has been between 195 and 199.5 all week, so I now too can say that I am under 200! I was stuck at 202 for about 6 weeks and didn't think I'd ever make it.
Topic: RE: How much weight have we lost?
Hi Everybody!
I have had such a busy year since Feb. 9th ... my surgery in Nashville. I haven't made time to post and am so sorry. As of yesterday morning,
I have lost 105 lbs !!! .......
....since Feb. 9th surgery, and 125 total... (including my weight lost prior to surgery). Basically, I just go by what I have lost since Feb. 9th. Am I in a good range or a normal range? Tonight I have been feeling so down, like I have failed. It may be the weather and I am absolutely exhausted. I go to my Dr. next Friday for my 6 month check up. I truly hope that I am
in a good range of weight loss. My bones have been the only problem that I have encountered. I am in constant pain... it may still be fibromyalgia, or just the fact that my poor body doesn't kow what to do without the fat to hold it up! LOL!
The GOOD NEWS is, I have gone from a size 32 jean to a 20 jean (almost 18).:From a 26-28 or 4X shirt size to almost an 18 - 16: my bra size has gone from a 44 DD to a 34 C( almost a Training bra!) I didn't want to lose that much up there though. If you would, let me know if you think I am ok and doing alright. I'm rather scared to go and see the doctor. Well, sorry for the pity party, I guess I am just extrememly tired.
I also just became a NEW Grandma on Thursday! That's why I'm so exhausted, but oh what a Precious" reason to be tired. My diet has been very strict: basically just chicken, fish or shrimp:very little verggies and Fruit 2 O(water). No carbs no caffeine, no grease and no sugar. I really have been very disciplined. Let me know what you think guys! Thank you so much! I'll try and get back to you all sooner. God Bless! Luv, kath

Topic: RE: Warning: Thinning hair and sunburn
I am 5 months out since the 23 and my hair is falling out more and more daily. I have always had thick hair and I wonder if it will be as thick any more. The bad thing is it is frizzing really bad and I am very saddened by the way it looks. I am optimistic because I take my vitamins and I eat lots of protein. I had my surgery in February on the 23 and I have since lossed 80 pounds and feel great.
Any how if you know of anyone who has been through this please share with me. I would like to know if they grew their hair back later on and if it was as thick as before. Thanks!

Jennifur,
My surgery was February 23, 2005. I have lossed only 80 pounds as of today. I hope this helps. I am five foot seven and I weighed 265 pounds before my surgery and 257 the day of surgery. I checked the chart on the obesity site and I am losing quite fast compared to it. I bet you are too because your surgery was the day before mine. I think you are doing great!

Topic: RE: Got a great compliment today
Stephanie,
Congratulations on the compliment. It always feels good to know that people are concerned for you and then recognize you on your looks. I am happy for you. I don't know you, but I know how you feel. I had my surgery Feb. 23, 2005 and I have lossed 80 pounds and what a difference in my life. It made me feel good to fit into a 14 which was way below what I thought I would fit into by now. However, some 10's and 12's fit as well in Lee jeans...
Well keep up the good work.
Keep in touch!

Sharon you are doing fine. I had my surgery on February 23, 2005. I am able to eat more chips and popcorn than anything. However at first I did eat only one to two small bites of a hamburger and no fries. However I am only five months out now and I eat a 1/3 of a burger and about 3 to 4 fries. I am able to eat more pasta and salad sometimes easier than other foods. I can eat still only about one enchalada and about the same as you on chips. So you are doing fine. I think the idea is to not eat chips and things like that all day with drink because you cause yourself to eat more. Some days I am able to eat more than others and it seems when it is that time of the month!!! LOL So I do not think you are doing bad at all.
Sincerely,
Tamela Pittman
P.S. If anyone disagrees with me, please let me know so I know that I am not doing anything wrong.
