Topic: RE: My six month follow-up
hi wendy:
thanks for posting your six month info. sorry to hear about your MIL's passing. i know when i lost mine it was truly traumatic.
thank God they found the levels you need to improve on. you must have been feeling more tired, etc... and not really realized it. the improvements will probably give you lots more energy.
and it sounds as though you're doing really well with the weight loss so congrats on that as well.
take care, wendy. keep up the great work.

Topic: 6 Month anniversary today!
I am down 123lbs, and lovin' life! I don't have my check up until the end of next month which is good cause it will give me enough time to talk myself into blood work....wish my needle phobia would go away along with the excess weight! No such luck!
Have a good one!

Topic: My six month follow-up
I went last Tuesday for my six month follow-up with my surgeon. I have lost 94 pounds, which they said was great - they said the typical loss for six months is 65 pounds. The bad news is that my labs did not come back good. Here is what they told me on Friday:
Potassium was low - 3.1/should be 3.5 - they want me to f/u with my PCP for a potassium supplement.
B-12 was "low normal" @366 - they want it to be in the 500's - so, I'll up my injections to two per week
Iron was low - Serum 32/should be 35, saturation was 8%/should be 15%, said I need to take feasol (sp?) 3 times per day (YUCK!!!)
Folic Acid was very low - I forgot to ask the numbers, but they want me to take 400mg daily.
I'm bummed that they turned out that way, but I have to admit that for the past three months, taking my vitamins has been the furthest thing from my mind. My MIL was extremely ill, and we traveled back and forth to OKC for two months until she passed away at the end of July. Now that school is back in session and I'm back on somewhat of a schedule, things will be better.
Hope everyone is doing well at our six month mark........good luck on the next six!!!!!

good luck to you Sarah! good luck to everyone who's got an upcoming 6 month check up.
Dorthe, I'm with you on being worried about my lab work. Mine all came out really good except my liver enzymes were high but they said that it wasn't anything to be worried about. So i guess i won't worry about it too much right now.

Topic: RE: A look into my future.....
Struggling with plateau right now. The scale went to 187 a couple weeks ago and then back to 192. Stuck there. Need more water and I need more protien. I go for my 6 month tomorrow. I have lost between 70-80 pounds so far but only 20 pounds since 3 month check up. Very slow at this time. I have been working out 4-6 days a week but no budging on the scale. maybe I am at a set point. EMOTIONAL ISSUES: you bet. Worried that I will be one of the unsuccessful ones. I try really hard to keep up a positive attitude but struggling this week. We can help each other. Sarah 266/ 192/ 140
