Wow you look amazing! How are you?
Anyway, I don't think it's the carbs that are the evil demons. I think it's more the kind of carbs your taking in Steph. Pizzas with the cheese and stuff and high calorie carbs will knock you right off the ball. I had the same problem this time last year, only I gained 15 lbs in a short MONTH! Believe it! I CONVINCED myself to find excuses why I was gaining weight. "I'm eating more food than the small morsels I was before." or "My metabolism is slowing down because of how little I eat" or "This is the time I'm supposed to be gaining". PheSssShh! Know what it really was? I was chowing down on chocolates, cookies, chips, high fat/high calorie foods, just small bits throughout the day made it seem less obvious. Jumped on fitday and realized I was pulling in something like 2300 calories/day!!!
Before surgery, I had lost alot of weight on the Atkins low/no carb diet and found that one small piece of chocolate blew me up 5 lbs. Yup. So I think maybe your body just isn't used to it yet. I've eaten carbs throughout my journey (not because I couldn't give it up) but simply because I know once you give it up, your body CRAVES it with a vengeance. Don't worry, just make healthy food choices. That's all.
I reassessed what I put in my mouth and lost those extra 15 lbs I had gained for over-indulging. I've since also lost an extra 9-10 lbs about 2 months ago (that's 18mo post op)
Good luck!

God - ME TOO!! I went from 255 lbs the day of surgery, down to 147 a year later, and now I'm at 157. I feel I am eating waaaaaaaaay too much, and all of the wrong things too. I'm hoping for posts with advice from others who've gotten back on track.
Come on folks - help us out :-)

Hi Lorraine, glad to see someone posting on the February board, I check it out almost daily but no one is around here much anymore.
Sorry to hear you are struggling, I do want you to know you aren't alone, there are many of us I'm sure that have gotten complacent and maybe a little ****ly to see the rapid weight loss and think it isn't going to stop.
Unfortunately that isn't the case, the further out we get the more challenging it becomes. We simple have to go back to basics: water, vitamins, protein first, and exercise.
I hate exercise always have and it isn't better. I am struggling right now with sweets, I do limit the amount I eat but I want it all the time. I so wish I hadn't tried sugar to find out I don't dump, it was better not knowing.
Refocus and think positive you've come along way, congratulations!
Dana

Hi Lorraine. I dont have much to offer. I logged on this evening because I'm looking for assistance too. I just saw that no one had responded so i thought I would reply and tell you I feel your pain.
I'm just trying to remember all the things I'm able to do now, that I won't be able to do if I gain this weight back.
Hopefully that will help me get back on track. I still have 40 pounds I'd like to lose.
Sorry I wasn't much of a help.
