hi everybody. thought i should follow up on my hard luck post from last weekend with the results of my dr visits. so here goes: i saw the podiatrist on thursday and got a shot of cortisone in my ankle. he's trying to rule out the ankle as a problem since it still hurts and is puffy where i broke it last year. and he wants to know EXACTLY what he will need to deal with when he finally does the foot. the cortisone shot numbed my foot so at least on valentine's evening it didn't hurt when we went out for supper. (buca's) the problem is not as bad with the cortisone so i'm holding a good thought that maybe i can escape surgery after all. (cross your fingers, please). my visit today with the surgeon for the one year follow up went well. all my levels are good. i've lost 157 official pounds since surgery and, given the facts that i've had my hysterectomy and plantar fascitis this past year, i'm pretty darn happy with year one. the dietician said my fatigue may very well be from menopause or depression, since all my levels are all good. so i'm gonna work on a more positive attitude, gonna let go of the argument i'm having with my mother, and, if the fatigue continues i'll check with my pcp on the depression and menopause solutions. i really, really, really want to thank everyone for all the positive thoughts, feedback, input, prayers, encouragement and posts. you guys totally rock. i feel so fortunate to have found this place and i'm thankful every day that you're all here. please know that, even when i don't post as much, i'm still visiting, lurking, praying, cheering, etc... thanks again, everyone. have a wonderful end of the week. hugs dorthe

thank you steph. i'm gonna hope that the fatigue is more a seasonal thing than anything having to do with my physical state. and i appreciate the crossings on those toes, legs and fingers. perhaps with enough of that, the foot won't need surgery. take care and have a great rest of the week. hugs dorthe

Dorthe, I pray the cortisone shot helps with the foot and no surgery is needed. Congrats on the wonderful report from the surgeon....hooray on the good bloodwork and the 157 lbs lost. It's been a wild year. I hope the fatigue goes away, I've struggled with it too but the last 2 weeks have been better. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Dana

Dorthe, Hope your foot gets better with the shot. Just one thought on this...I have Rheumitoid Arthritis and every year it settles in one spot and stays there from what seems like Nov to March. This year was my shoulders but last year was my heels. I considered the injections but it would just move to another spot. So I guess what I am asking is have you been tested for RA? As far as your weight; you did awesome. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
