Your thoughts on energy level

I need to know if I'm the odd one are if others experiences this. I have some days that I feel fantastic...energy galore and then I feel like the bottom dropped out. I cannot seem to penpoint what causes me to feel tired and yucky. It is starting to irritate the heck out of me....I just want to feel good everyday and it ain't happening. I just had blood drawn 2 weeks ago and everything is within the norm (except cholesterol and B-12, both slightly elevated) so that isn't it. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever feel normal. I had so much energy this weekend, I actually did some spring cleaning, but yesterday and today I'm tired, lightheaded and feel like crap...I'm confused and wonder what it could possibly be. Thanks, Dana

i'm not sure what it is either but i'm having the same problem. i just got my labs done yesterday so i'm hoping that'll tell me something. if you find out anything let me know! how does your blood pressure run? mine has been extremely low and my doctor said that makes you tired and can make you feel lightheaded too. maybe check into that. we'll feel normal one day....i believe that!! Hey Steph, first off check out your pic, you look wonderful girlfriend. Well, I'm not sure what my blood pressure is running, I need to take out my blood pressure machine and check it, it hasn't been low previously though. Girl, I am not sure what it up, but I feel like crap more days than not and I don't like this , I want to feel good...I'm lightheaded too, I was thinking it was due to dehydration as I wasn't very good drinking this weekend but I've been water loading and still I'm lightheaded, maybe an inner ear infection or something but I don't feel bad, just lightheaded and tired. I really wonder what normal feels like....maybe we are normal now, we just expect more than what normal is . Hugs, Dana

Stacy, hun I totally agree, WLS did save my life....to no longer have high blood pressure, dangerously high cholesterol (although I still have slightly elevated), GERD, and an aray of other illnesses including severe depression is a godsend. Wow I'm amazed at how many 10-18 months are experiencing the same thing we have...maybe it's just our bodies trying to level out and we expect to much. I will have my thyroids checked to make sure those levels are fine and shake up my vitamin routine a little to see if that helps. I hope you feel better soon too. Dana

You could make sure you are not running hypoglycemic. (Low blood sugar). When that happens to me, I actually get the shakes. Kia

Kia, I've had some issues with hypoglycemia....eating more frequently has helped me alot....I can feel it coming on and I get very shaky, do you think maybe it is dropping enough to cause me to be extra tired but not so low that I get the shakes like previously? I didn't even consider that could potentially be it. The thing is I have more days that I'm tired than have energy.....and I need to figure out why. Dana

You sound like you are doing the right thing: more frequent smaller meals with low glycemic impact are important. I hope you get to the bottom of why you are so tired! Please keep us informed. Kia

I can really relate to these comments. I find myself wondering if I'm hypothroid, estrogen deficient, dehydrated ?? I'm on BP meds with an extremely low blood pressure - could this be contributing? I'm dizzy most of the time, with the wierdest gait! Best, Deborah RNY 2/22/05 305/170/?

Deborah, sorry you are having these issues to, well I know mine isn't thyroid, had that blood work done and got results yesterday. Dehydration possibly, I do well drinking during the week but weekends are to good, get busy and forget to drink. I am feeling better today so I'll try really hard this weekend to drink alot and hope that helps. Low blood pressure can also cause you to be really tired, maybe it's time to adjust the BP meds? Dana

Dana, I'm glad it isn't your thyroid, and hope it is something that you can change, like drinking more. It's funny - I have a hard time drinking enough during the week when I'm at work, and an easier time when I'm home on the weekends. How great that you've been feeling better today - I hope that continues. The cardiologist wanted to reevaluate me 6 months from my last appt, but I see my primary on the 17th for a physical so I'll be interested in her input. It's running in the low 90s over high 50s. You have done such an inspiring job working at losing weight. The changes on your profile page are incredible. Thanks so much for responding. Deborah
