Update...long overdue

Hello all...I've been reading the board and thought I'd give a quick update on myself. All is well with my weight loss...I have reached my goal of 150, and lost two more pounds since then. I've decided to try and keep losing more, that way when my weight loss stabilizes I'll have a little room to play with a few pounds here and there and won't panic if I gain a little. I hope that makes since... lol. I had to have surgery on Nov. 22 to correct a rectocele. Dorthe I noticed in one of your posts that you are gonna have to have this too. Good luck! The surgery itself wasn't too bad..I LOVE my gynecologist (ironically his name is Dr. Pigg...lol) and he did a great job, but then I set up infection that just about got the best of me! I have never been that down and out from a surgery, including the bypass surgery! Wow! I am doing 100% better now though, and am going to return to work tomorrow. Now I'd like to rant a little about a pet peeve of mine involving my weight loss. Has anyone been told by others that they are "losing too much"? I hate this! This one woman came up to me at a funeral the other day and said she thought if I lost much more that I was going to look "sickly". Hello...5'4" and 148 is NOT sickly! I hate to tell these people this but slim, contoured cheeks are not "sickly". I know they are used to big chubby red cheeks and when you no longer have these, they think you're anorexic or something, but those big round cheeks were what was sickly! Ideally I could still lose around 15 more pounds and still be within normal ranges. I guess after so many years of seeing a big person, it is a little shocking to some to see a person who has lost 123 pounds, but come on guys...for the first time in many years I am finally healthy...please don't take that away from me by saying I look sickly! Shew...that felt good to get that off my chest...lol...I hope I haven't bored you guys. Everyone looks great and keep up the good work!!

hi sheila. thanks for the update. sorry to hear you had issues with your surgery. the most literal of pain in the as$e$, huh? glad it all worked out for you (in the end). OK, OK, I THINK I''M DONE NOW. LOL can you tell i'm joking cause i'm nervous. gotta get the same thing done and don't know when. they say - when my weight stabilizes. hello - i'm still looking at another YEAR of weight loss. til then, i take colace and psyllium and an occasional laxative. yuck. i have not yet actually had anyone tell me i'm losing too much weight. of course, i still have another hundred pounds to go, and have already lost 150, but that gives me plenty of time to come up with a great answer. i'm thinking along the lines of - if someone tells me i've lost too much - i could always say 'it's ok, i see you've found them'. thanks for sharing your update, sheila. good to hear from a fellow febber. take care. dorthe

Congratulations Sheila on making your goal, I'm so happy for you. Pffff, I hear the "your to skinny" comments to, and yes my mother is the main culprit. I know it's because I was always overweight but gosh can't they understand . Happy Holidays, Dana PS, be sure to post a new pic soon.
