Plastic surgery consultations!

Wow! I can hardly believe it's been 8 months since my RNY! I am at 179 pounds, still losing VERY, VERY slowly, like 3 pounds this month. I only have 10 pounds to be at my surgeon's goal. I want to end up at 150-160, so I think it should be more like 20 pounds. However, I have a lot of skin around my middle. I was always an apple, big and round! Anyway, I plan to have my first round of plastic surgery in Feb or March. I want a breast lift with implants (I currently have two empty llloooonnnggg tube socks hanging here!) and my arms fixed. My weight came off from the top down. My face and upper body is very thin, my ribs show where by boobies used to be. Everyone tells me I need to quit losing. But 179 is NOT skinny! It's just that my face, neck and chest are so thin. If they could see me naked...whoa, what a sight! Then in June I will have a lower body lift. I just found out if I want to have surgery in Feb/March I need to start my consultations in November! Who'd a thought?! I was going to wait until Jan to even have my first appts. I have called and have three appt with three differnt surgeons. All three of their offices said that is correct, start now for surgery in spring! So I am working on my list of questions. My mom is just sure I have a good 15 pounds of skin that will come off. Guess we'll see what the doctors think. My sister had her boobies done and a tummy tuck last year, so I have her offering to help me. Just wanted to update a little! Anyone else thinking of plastic's yet? Hugs, Susan 298/179/150-160ish

I'm already scheduled for my plastics on November 11th. I actually had my preop today. I pity the poor girl that had to take the pics! I went last month for my consultation and got a date right away. of course I am self pay so I'm sure thats got a lot to do with it. My insurance wont cover any of it, but I was expecting that. I dont have rashes or sores and my tummy doesnt hang down to my crotch, so it really is just cosmetic for me. But itll boost my self esteem so that makes it more than worth it. I'm having a breast(lollipop incision) lift w/ augmentation (silicone under the muscle), limited incision brachioplasty (incision is a half moon shape inside the armpit only), and abdominoplasty w/ muscle tightening the incision will be hip to hip, not the anchor cut since my skin wasnt bad enough to need that. I MIGHT have my inner and outer thighs lipo'd much later, but right now theyre okay and I can live with them and they dont have any excess skin. I am so excited! I'm getting comfortable with my new thinner self and am trying to maintain my weight at 140-145. I'm wearing 4's and 6's(not many 6, most brands are too loose) on bottom and small and medium tops. I cant remember ever being this size and am just so happy. I have energy, I'm healthy, and things couldnt get much better! Good luck on your plastics!

Susan, I'm so happy for you, with all you experienced early on, I am sure you are proud of your progress and indeed you should be. You are getting close to your goal and the PS will probably help you surpass your goal. I to need some PS - arms, breast, TT and legs but as I also will be a self pay, I'll have to do it slowly. My surgeon recommends waiting 18 months after your weight stablizies so I probably won't start any consultations until summer of 2006. I am looking to have the batwings and my breast done first. I hope not to have to have implants but since I think the last 10 lbs came from my breast, I think it is inevitable. Wish you lots of luck finding a surgeon you are comfortable with. Hugs, Dana
