I guess that I am one of those unfortunates that just will not lose all of my weight with WLS. I have lost 72 lbs. in 8 months and now I am in plateau stage with no loss in 2 months. All my labs are great and my intake has increased considerably...Any ideas? or anyone else going through this...this is one of the reasons that I have been lurking so much lately.

Hi you are probably just in a platau and then it will start up again. Like what are you eating? Are you getting enough exercise? Are you drinking enough? These may all be contributing to not losing. Just guessing. Hope you start losing again. Take Care Cheryl

Yup, and the protien too. I have been in plateau for nearly a month, and I know I need to up my water and protein. I have just started to increase all my intake, and my exercise, and lower my carbs. GL2US Robin 315/203/160-190

hi: i'm in the same boat. have been for awhile. had to go back and re-evaluate what i was and was not doing, and check the rules again to fine tune my habits. but it's definitely getting harder to continue to lose. good luck, i hope it's just a plateau, too. dorthe

Hi, take a deep breathe and relax, you seem to have hit a plateau, which is a common occurance on this journey. Give us an idea of a typical days menu and maybe someone can help you. How many calories, carbs and protein grams are you eating? I use fitday.com to track my intake, strive to get in 70+ grams of protein, less than 30 grams of carbs and between 500-750 calories a day. Drinking extra water, changing your exercise routine, and your food might help jump start the plateau. Our bodies get comfortable with a routine and we sometimes need to shock it to get the metabolism going. Stay positive and no I don't think you're done. We are beyond the honeymoom (6 months) but typically most lose weight up to 12 - 18 months. Good Luck! Dana

Hey Faith, I'm going to agree with you, its the carbs and I'm sure water retention, you had a good deal of salt yesterday, drink tha****er girl, you should see it move down in a day or two. Did you eat enough protein, looks kind of low too. I think other than the pizza, your carbs are fine, I'm assuming you ate the pizza crust right, not just the topping? I'm stalled again, so I'm really cutting my carbs back, trying to stay below 20 but it's hard because of my protein drinks. I can't get enough protein in without the drinks. This is what I had yesterday: B - 1/2 Power Crunch bar AchievOne coffee L - 3 oz chili with cheese D - 2 oz chicken, 2 teaspoons of potato salad (bad girl, ) S - 1 cup popcorn (again bad girl) Today I've had: B - 3 oz cottage cheese L - 2 oz deli turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion and jalapeno S - AchievOne Coffee D - ???? S - Protein Delite drink w/Carb Countdown See much less carbs than yesterday, so I'm working on it. Dana

whats up girl!!!! i went thru the same thing about a month ago but its not the end of your weight lost. jus****CH your food intake and the greasy foods. ive found myself too eating alot of things that im not supposed to have here lately becuase i got tired of eating the same old baked and reduced fat foods( u feel me gurl??!!). so a couple weeks ago i started eat like i had some sense, going back to the baked and reduced fat foods. as soon as you do that, trust me the weight will start coming off again. keep in touch and let me know how u are doing.......keep your head up!!!!

I'm right there with you. I've only lost 60lbs. in 8 months. My average is about 3lbs. a month if I'm lucky. My surgeon and PCP believe my slow loss is due to the fact that I take insulin for diabetes. Sure I'd love to get down to 135, but it just isn't going to happen. I'm at 190 now and my surgeon thinks I'll get to at least 170. I'm just happy that my weight is under 200 for the first time in many years.

Hi there I thought and sometimes I feel like the same way. I haven't lost anything in the past 2 months now. I'm stuck on a very bad plateau. I'm stuck between 210-220. I just can't wait until I'm out of the 200's all together and someday seeing the scale 199! Hang in there we'll all get threw this
