Hello Feb 05 babies! My name is Carrie and I had my surgery in May 05. I have struggled and struggled for 4 weeks now with a plateau and have not lost a single pound. I have lost 38lbs in the first two months , but nothing in my third month. So I thought I would see where all of you were at 3 months post....... Did you struggle emotionally? Struggle with plateau's? Calorie intake? If you had to advise someone that was 1-3 months post, op what would be the TWO most important things you would share with them? Our May 05 board is such a great support, but I was wondering if you had anything to say to someone that is struggling emotionally. No regrets, just wishing the scale would move! Thanks for letting me post.....I soooooo look forward to hearing what you all have to say!!! Carrie 5'9", started at 291, surgery 05/18/2005, lap rny

I remember my third month was really slow too - slow weight loss, no loss in pants size, etc. Then again I had just joined Curves then too so maybe I was gaining muscle (a little). I started eating more calories and drinking less water then too lol. Around month 4 I got wiser and started adding shakes to up my protein and drinking more water then Wahlah! the scales began to move again for me. Good luck with you! Kia 5'9'' 284/195/155

hi carrie: i remember three months as being a transitional time, too. you get to hang in there and remember to drink all your water. you may actually need to raise the protein intake so your body gets more nutrition and can function more efficiently. it may help to fiddle with your vitamins as well. but most of all, drink your fluids, eat your protein - never at the same time. good luck dorthe

Hi Carrie, I agree with Kia and Dorthe -- up your water intake and your protein intake. I also had a slow 3rd month but it will get better, be patient, I know not easy but think positve and follow your dr. protocol. Best wishes, Dana

Struggling with plateau right now. The scale went to 187 a couple weeks ago and then back to 192. Stuck there. Need more water and I need more protien. I go for my 6 month tomorrow. I have lost between 70-80 pounds so far but only 20 pounds since 3 month check up. Very slow at this time. I have been working out 4-6 days a week but no budging on the scale. maybe I am at a set point. EMOTIONAL ISSUES: you bet. Worried that I will be one of the unsuccessful ones. I try really hard to keep up a positive attitude but struggling this week. We can help each other. Sarah 266/ 192/ 140
