Anybody just stuck???
Alright I am almost 6 months out on the 11th of this month and I too have noticed that I can eat more than I use to. However, it still is no where near what I use to eat!! Despite this, I am not losing. I have gone from 321 to 231 where I have stayed for two weeks now, before that I was at 241 for like a month!!! This sucks!!! Anyone else having problems like this. I know I am not perfect, and I don't always make the right choices, but dang I barely eat compared to what I use to eat!!! I am going to get back into exercising, so I am praying this helps!! Anyone else fustrated???
Brandy
Hi Brandy..
well I would suggest to keep on eating since sometimes people stop eating and our bodies cling to the fat for dear life.. also you could up the water.. since its been so hot... dehydration is a MAJOR concern for us post ops.. stick with it.. dont waver and it will melt off..
You have come so far.. and you can go further.. you will be a HUGE looser..

At first I was losing 15-25 pounds per month. Now I am losing 5-8 pounds per month. It feels slow compared to the first months but the inches have been coming off. I think our bodies have to catch up. I have lost so much hair (hope it grows back and I don't look like a Qtip) that I want to slow down for a while so my hair will grow back. I think you are doing great. I am able to eat more now but not like before. I notice when I drink all of my water and exercise I have a better drop for the week. Have a great day. Sarah
I feel ya! The last month or so my weight keeps getting stuck for about 2 weeks then I go down a pound or two. I was 171 for close to a month the scale went up a pound or two then down to 171 then just stopped moving. Today I finaly weighed in at 169. Of course with my luck it will be back at 171 in the morning, but I was just happy to see that number! Maybe it moved cause I threatened to run over my scale if it didnt start going down ( and trust me if it had still said 171 this morning it would have been under the wheels of my jeep lol!), maybe my bodies just readjusting the weight. Just keep exersizing, get your liquids in, and eat right and everything will work out. Were all gonna have days, weeks, and months were the scale wont move, we wont be happy but we have to remind ourselves that as long as we work our tool the weight will come off.
Ive noticed that I can eat more too at times. I'm not worried about it since Ive heard that around 6 months your pouch is ready for more. And it still reminds me whos boss too. Some days I cant even get a protein shake or 2 oz of food in me without feeling stuffed after the first sip/bite. Of course some days I can eat 3oz of chicken and 1 oz of cheese or pasta in at one sitting and be fine. My surgeon says that "I" should be able to have 5-6 ounces a sitting by now. Of course everyone is different though.
Now why couldnt I have taken my own advice?? I was going nuts the last 2 weeks lol!
Try threatining the scale. Worked for me lol!
good luck hun!

Hey Brandy!
First of all, you are just as cute and as pretty as you can be! CONGRATS on your weight loss! Next, I have had the same problem and think so many of us go through this. The last couple of months have been so hard for me as far as weight loss. I could not figure out what the problem was and then it hit me, my body is getting use to everything and that is slowing things down. I really agree with what others are saying but I think that you need to SHOCK THE HELL out of your body. Starting Monday, go back to the basics of this surgery, hit the protein and water....and little food. Do as one lady suggested and do 2 meals of protein shake and the 3rd as like a salad with tuna or a light meat and veggies. Keep your water going through the day then do a exercise that you don't normally do. I have been going to Jazzercise like 3 or 4 times a week and thought surely that the weight would fall off after me working my butt off so many days. BUT, my body got into a groove and the weight was harder to come off. I think I was losing inches and gainning muscle. Last week, I did not go to Jazzercise, I went to the track and walked and jogged as much as I could for 2 miles and I shot down 4 pounds in the last 3 days. IT makes me want to go to the track EVERYDAY! Just try something different for the next couple of weeks and see what happends. I know everyone is different but just try it. Good luck with everything and I am so very proud of you and how far you have come. Please try and not be too upst and discouraged. God bless you and keep your head up, you are beautiful!!
All my love,
Christina

Hi everyone, I have not been on the board lately and glad to see that you are all here still. Sounds like I fit in the same boat with everyone else. Last week I paid attention and increased the water and protien. The scale dropped to 187 - wow - I really wanted to be in the 180's when I go see the doctor next Tuesday. Good idea about the shakes. What type do you drink? I have tried the Atkins and they are ok.
I am going to try that this weekend and see how I do. I am scared to try anything new while at work. I am a therapist and my receptionist holds me hostage to my schedule. I am afraid of spending too much time in the restroom or having changes in my schedule. I eat the same thing every day and fill my water bottle all day long.
Have a great day everyone and glad you are here. Sarah 266/187/140
HI Brandy-I too am 'stuck'--but my doctor and nutritionist talked about this at one of our support group meetings a few months ago- they say it happens to everyone at about 6 months post op. They said don't worry, keep doing all the right stuff and then it just 'magically' starts up again in a few weeks. So I'm just trying to keep myself on track (boy that can be hard, when the scales don't cooperate though) and waiting. I can eat more now too- but alot of things doesn't taste good to me -especially meats and cheeses-fruit is yummy and most veggies are good--thank goodness it's summer and I have real tomatoes and cukes from my garden,,,LOL. I've been drinking 2 protein drinks a day for quite a while and then just eating the veggies and fruit. It's been really hot and humid here so my exercise has been limited to using my treadmill for 30 minutes each day and doing some arm exercises with light weights. So hang in there girl with the rest of us-----we're gonna make it--we just need to be patient and keep up the hard work....you're doing great!!
