I was wondering what people are eating in a typical day now, almost 6 months out. Also, how have your post-op bloodworks coming back? I am currently battling low potassium and B12......Any one else?

Hi, my typical food day consist of the following: B - 1/2 or carb control yogurt or 1 oz cheese, or leftover meat & vegs. L - Meat and vegetables D - Meat and vegetables I occasionally eat fruit but I can still only eat between 1 oz and 1 1/2 at each meal. I do use protein drinks sometimes because I still struggle with getting in enough. I do not eat any starches except what my vegetables and fruit have and I keep the carbs below 25 grams per day. My last blood work was fine. I did battle low potassium and my surgeon prescribed me a liquid potassium. It worked wonderfully but it tasted aweful As for B-12 mine results were fine however, I have been dealing with fatigue and a tingling in my right leg. Doc had me start taking B-12 and B-1 and I feel great now. Hope you get your bloodwork back in the normal ranges soon. Best wishes, Dana

I honestly don't have any set eating pattern. I do know I don't eat enough normally - food is just not a priority for me any more but I should be eating at least 3x a day. Today for example, breakfast was vitamins, lunch was a strawberry protein shake and dinner so far is tuna helper (we make it with 3 cans of tuna so lots of protein in there). Later I will prolly try to fit in another protein shake to up my protein and I might also eat a protein ball. My blood work is fantastic so I have been told, but I take my vitamins etc. religiously. I'm the same as Kia on this one-I don't really have a set eating pattern. I probably should be eating more than I do. I basically eat anythong I want, just SMALL amounts...and no bread, or sugar. I drink mostly water, and some milk and OJ every now and then. I've only had bloodwork done once since surgery, and it came back OK. Sheila

I have my bloodwork next week, so I'll let you know then. Typical day: B - instant breakfast with Carb Countdown or 3 slices crisp bacon S - 1 oz cheese L - soup or chili or leftovers D - same as lunch sometimes I have a protein shake or bar if I'm low. sometimes I have some soy crisps if I'm craving crunch. I don't have a particular food or group of foods during a day either. I just don't eat alot of anything. Probably not even as much as I should. My bloodwork came back fine although I have been tired lately. Keep it up!! and God Bless. Pam

I don't follow any routine. I try to always eat my protein 1st. Some days I'm still not hungry at all so I still force down protein drinks. As for the blood work, I go in next week to have it done. If anything, I think my iron might be low. Otherwise I feel great.

I go to the doctor on 08/16 and will find out about the blood work. I am not that good at taking the vitamins so suspect that it may be an issue. Normal day of food: B: chees and yogurt S: pretzels L: soup or chili with crackers D: meat and veggies I usually have fruit every day also and popcorn in the evening. Sarah

Not sure as far as blood work goes. I have to get it done, but the last one was good. With eating, I don't put much emphasis on it. I try to eat 3x a day, but most days, I get somthing like this. B- 6 oz skim milk or a protein bar L- protein drink. D- whatever I want, but must have protein, and I watch the carbs. S- I usually have a SF popscicle if I feel snacky.
