5th Month, How is it going for you?
Ok, we Febbers are at the 5-month mark. Time to check in and share your stories.
------------------
I'm down 85 lbs. I am hoping to be at -100 by 6 months, but I don't know if that is realistic. We'll see in a month.
I've had 2 surgeries since my original and I have had an open wound for the last 7 weeks. I get it closed next Thursday and will finally be able to start exercising. That should help with the weight loss.
Food is good. My gag reflex is still sensitive, but I don't vomit. I just gag a lot in the morning, especially when brushing my teeth.
All in all, I'm happy with things. Oh, and my 75-year-old mother eloped last week!

I'm down 73 pounds and feel great. I was a size 24 now I'm a 14!!! I'm finally starting to see myself smaller. I don't have any problems with eating anything. I still haven't found a calcium that I can tolerate. The office is getting in the choc Building Blocks chewables so I'll probably try those. I take my Juice Plus and biotin everyday. I got my first b-12 shot a few days ago I had been using sublingual. The shot isn't bad at all and I'm a big wimp and it seems to work better.

I'm down 60 lbs. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I can eat most things except chicken and scrambled eggs. They just will not go down. I take all my vitamins every day, and strive to get in my water.
Yesterday I started Curves. I will go there 3x a week, and to water aerobics 2x a week. My kids keep me hopping on the weekend.
I am so disgusted that my weight loss has slowed down so much.

Hi Ruth,
I am down 53 lbs and I'm somewhat disappointed at the slow weight lost.
I too can eat whatever I want with the exception of foods that are high in sugar..cake, ice cream etc..
I am not as committed to excercising but I have decided today I will excercise daily. Hopefully this will help me start to losing weekly.
You are doing great! Good luck with Curves..
Hi Im down 77 pds. feeling great, finally not as tired as I used to be. I too can eat just about anything which scares me. Hair has started falling out the last month but Im not too worried yet. Still cant get in all the water. I have been stuck at the same weight for about 1 month now but figure thats my body just trying to catch up to all the weight I already lost.
Thanks for the post Jeanie!
I am down 70 pounds and 47.5 inches from the day of surgery, and 90 pounds from the start of the process (20 pounds pre-op). I am able to do more things, my house is cleaner, I can play tennis with my son for longer than 5 minutes and, the only thing that does not agree with me is white bread and pork. I am down from a size 3X top / 28 - 30 pants to a 22 pants and 18 - 20 (1X) top. Do I regret my decision? Much the same as everyone else, my only regret is I had to wait until I was 45 to do this!

Hi Jeannie and all Feb. friends.
I am down 100.5 lbs as of yesterday and what a day it was. I started with my surgeon on January 14th (6 months today), had surgery on February 21st so down 79.5 since surgery, 21 lbs. pre-op.
My daily meals still consist of mainly lean meats and green leafy vegetables. I do sometimes eat cheese, yogurt, fruit, and such but I do keep my carbs down to a minimum.
I just added B-12 sublinguial 2 times a day and a B-1 vitamin because I was tired all the time and it has definitely help. I haven't really lost any significant hair, thank God. Keep waiting for the day and hoping for the best.
I haven't had any problems with foods, just some I don't like -- eggs, sausage, and hot dog weiners, can't even swallow it, can't tell you why except the taste isn't good. I haven't tried any bread, rice, potatoes - scared they make me sick and I'm not missing them so why test the waters
Wow great to hear your mother is enjoying life and is happy. That is so sweet.
Hugs,
Dana
I'm down 71 lbs since January. I lost about 12 lbs before surgery. I had a revision from an VBG (1982) to the RNY and I'm told that with a revision the weight loss is usually slower. I'm exercising 4 to 5 times a week and for once in my life I can honestly say "I enjoy exercising"! I really don't know what size I was in before surgery because all my cloths were the kind that would streach alot and I was streaching them to their limit! Now I can wear a size 18 pants and some 16s. I get in anywhere between 80 to 120 g of protein in daily, all my water and all my vit. I have been getting a B12 shot since 1 month before my surgery and this past month I have begun supplementing with the B12 VitaMist.
