To reply for my update... I am now at 157 and wearing a size 12!! Yippeeeeee I exercise at the YMCA 5-6 times a week and love it. I still don't eat much, have some days that I am hungryer (I know that isn't a word) and other days I can't eat much at all. I have found out that my pouchie dosen't like artificial sweetners at all. If I have sweet n low or splenda I throw up like crazy, so that has been hard to watch out for when it's food I haven't made. I also can't do chicken well at all. Other than that I do fine. I try to get my water in but have yet to succeed at it. I do take my vites, and the protein is a dail struggle as I don't eat enough to make my minimum of 60gms. I can't stand shakes but can eat the bars. I hope you all love your tool as much as I love mine. I hope you are all out enjoying life and learning to love yourselves. Huggs, Sharon

HI Sharon, sorry I can't help on the calories, I don't count them regularly, just be sure to eat my protein first, veges and then there isn't any other room available in my pouch. I have gone to fitday.com periodically and I average around 400-600 calories a day. I started out at 260.5 lbs, currently weighing 162.5 (come on Century Club). I still have many days that I don't want to eat and some days I feel hungry . I drink lots of water during the week days and struggle on the weekend, to busy running the roads I haven't had any problems with any foods in the department but there are a couple of foods (especially eggs) that disgust me. Another food that is also a "NO NO" that I tried (just 1) is french fries and they are horrible. They were one of my favorites before surgery. I am definitely enjoying life, love the tool and haven't regretted having surgery one time. Dana Lap RNY 2-21-05 260.5/239/162.5/130

Around 1200 is what I've been told but I'm 5'5. Started at 258 am now down to 188 was a size 22/24 now 16. I feel great. I can eat most things. The only "problem" I've had is if I eat to fast or take to big of a bite.I work out 3 times a week with my husband (weight training) I take Juice Plus (a product I sell Janice Ridgeway 918-665-0777) I get in all my water (once in a while I may be short) and I get in all my protein. I'm sorry to hear about your son I hope he gets well soon. I went to a celebration at a church I used to attend and work at for 10 years and I hadn't seen most of the people in over a year. Lots of OOOs and AAAhs so I was thrilled and felt great. Janice

Hi, Sharon! Glad to see you are doing good. I use fitday.com to track my food. I get 700-900 calories a day, 95-105 protien a day and around 30 carbs. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week, although I missed the entire month of June after my husband passed away. I just either had too many things going on, or I just couldn't seem to get going. I am back at it now. I get all my vitamins in everyday, no problems there. And I get my water in 99% of the time. I started at 298, I am now at 206. So, 92 pounds. I am happy with that! Most of the time I do ok with my food. I can still only eat 2-3 ounces, less if I try something dense. Ground beef works great for me, and lucky for me I have a cow in the freezer from a friend that was raised without extra stuff. It's very lean meat, a paper towel can blot the grease after I brown it. For protien I use Any Whey powder. It is wonderful, no flavor and doesn't change the texture of things. I mix a scop in sf kool-aid or sf Hawaiin Punch several times a day to get the extra protien. I also drink the Mootopia milk from HEB (do y'all have HEB in Houston?). It has less sugar, more calcium and added protien (14 grams to 8 ozs). Did you see Dr Garth and do bloodwork yet? I had mine a few weeks ago when I saw him. I am waiting to hear how it looked. Hugs, Susan 298/206/150ish??

I don't keep track of calories and my surgeon never gave me any calorie restriction. I haven't been able to exercise yet, I keep having surgeries! Argh! Soon, though. I have lost 84 lbs so far. Not bad, considering no exercise. I don't have any food problems right now, but my tastes have certainly changed. Eggs disgust me, too. Blech! I can't even stand the smell of them. I'm able to eat anything and still lose. God bless this surgery! I'm able to eat about 5 ounces at a time, at the most. Some meals I can only hold 2 or 3. I'm not sure what that's about. We are all nearing or are at 5 months. Hooray for us! We survived it! Jeanie Duodenal Switch 02/12/05 ~

I just follow weigh****chers points most of the time, and that doesn't steer me wrong.
