A group of Feb. 05 WLS patients have formed an email support group to have daily peer support with those at the same stage of the journey we are at. Hi, I am new to this web site. I am looking for some help.. Since my Lap Band surgery on February 11, 2004, I have been having chronic diarrhea. My life is pure hell. I have lost about 36lbs since then. I have been to my Internist, a Gastroenterologist about this. I had a Colonoscopy to determine if I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but that was a negative. I have been using Immodium for the diarrhea. It is the only thing that works, but then I will get severe constipation by the end of a week.. I am just wondering if any one else has been having this problem.. When I went for an adjustment on my band, I spoke with the Nurse Practioner, and he said that "it has nothing to do with the surgery", but I can't believe this. He told me also that I could eat anything I wanted, as long as it was in small portions, and to eat very slowly.. I have been doing that all along..I am at a point of frustration right now , that I am thinking of having the procedure reversed. I just can't go on living like this.. I have driven home with such lower abdominal cramps, that I thought I would die. I also am having upper GI problems, where I feel the food is just staying in my esophogus. I end up having to throw that up, which takes sometimes a very long time.. I am in extreme pain throughout this ordeal.. I have given up my social life, and have had to cancel appts. due to being so sick, I can't leave the bathroom.. PLEASE, if anyone has had this experience, let me know if you have come to a solution.. Thank you. Patricia

Patricia, you might want to post this again in a new thread, this one is about a new group and your post won't get any visual here for help...at least not as much as if you'd repost it separately
