FEB 05 EMAIL SUPPORT GROUP! (REPOST)
Posted w/permission from Amy Williams from the OH staff:
If you're like me, you might have a time keeping up with bulletin boards.
A group of Feb. 05 WLS patients have formed an email support group to have daily peer support with those at the same stage of the journey we are at.
Each post (AND EVERY RESPONSE TO THE POST) is sent to every member's email....either individually, in digest form, or you can read and respond from the web.
We are 84 members strong and would like to invite YOU, all the Feb. 05 surgery patients around the world to join us.
Email me at [email protected] for the URL to the sign up!

Down 73 POUNDS!!:::dance:dance:dance:dance:
Hi, I am new to this web site. I am looking for some help.. Since my Lap Band surgery on February 11, 2004, I have been having chronic diarrhea. My life is pure hell. I have lost about 36lbs since then.
I have been to my Internist, a Gastroenterologist about this. I had a Colonoscopy to determine if I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but that was a negative. I have been using Immodium for the diarrhea. It is the only thing that works, but then I will get severe constipation by the end of a week.. I am just wondering if any one else has been having this problem.. When I went for an adjustment on my band, I spoke with the Nurse Practioner, and he said that "it has nothing to do with the surgery", but I can't believe this. He told me also that I could eat anything I wanted, as long as it was in small portions, and to eat very slowly.. I have been doing that all along..I am at a point of frustration right now , that I am thinking of having the procedure reversed.
I just can't go on living like this.. I have driven home with such lower abdominal cramps, that I thought I would die. I also am having upper GI problems, where I feel the food is just staying in my esophogus. I end up having to throw that up, which takes sometimes a very long time.. I am in extreme pain throughout this ordeal..
I have given up my social life, and have had to cancel appts. due to being so sick, I can't leave the bathroom..
PLEASE, if anyone has had this experience, let me know if you have come to a solution.. Thank you. Patricia
