Hiccups
Hello Everyone,
I have never created a post here. I've been more of a lurker (I know there's a lot of you out there too)
I find myself getting the hiccups very often now. Many times I find myself hiccuping and belching at the same time. It is uncontrolable, and often embarassing! Tonight, before I ate supper I had them really bad - and they were VERY loud! My son couldn't believe how loud they were.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know why we might get them more often now?
Thank you,
Maura (down 56 lbs since surgery)
I get hiccups when I'm hungry and when I'm full. I asked my Dr about it and he said when you're full it's something about a nerve is being hit that causes it but he said he had no idea why I get them when I'm hungry. Before surgery I always got them when I was real real hungry now anytime I'm hungry and full. Weird and annoying isn't it?!

I used to get hiccups ALL the time prior to surgery...now I only get them occassionally
I asked my PCP and he said that before I was breathing through my mouth and intaking alot of air...that is why I had them before...now (I have gone to breathing classes) I am breathing through my nose and the air is going to my lungs and not my stomach...so less frequent hiccups
Dont know if I believe this...but it works for me!
