How much have YOU lost and are you normal?
Ok some of you may not know that this *calculater* is here on the OH website so here is a nice link to it.

You input your STARTING weight where it says how much you weigh now, and your height. Then you guess a figure on how much you expect to lose. For me, the figures work perfectly if I put in 95 (since my ideal weight is supposed to be around 155) I suggest you start at 80 and if that doesn't give you the ending figure you or your doctor are shooting for, just re-calculate with a new figure until you get your ideal chart.
This really helps me stay focused when I swear everyone is losing faster then me, etc. etc. Give it a try!

284/219/155 ish down 65# !
Okay Kia, that sounded like a good idea until I did it, now I'm a little depressed. If I read it correctly it said that I should be down about 90 lbs. I have only lost 60ish. I haven't lost anything in 3 weeks. I'm hoping it will pick up again. The exciting thing is, it said I could hope to get down to 184 lbs. That would be more exciting than words. My doc. won't give me a goal weight, they just want you to be healthy. My own personal goal is around 200 lbs, but 185 would be totally awesome. Thanks for giving us the link.

Hi Kia,
(I use to have a very close friend of mine, who is an Optometrist, named Kia-- we still send Christmas cards to each other.... I've always loved the name, it's beautiful!)
A friend of mine a few month's ago showed me the 'calculater'. It's been very encouraging. It was hard seeing how much everyone else was losing and losing less than the average. But when she showed me how to calculate my weight loss, I was shocked at my results!
I've lost 52 pounds (I only weigh on Mondays) and it calculates me at 97% weight loss!!! That's fantastic!!! How can you ask for better than that!???

I think this thing depends on what numbers you put in. If I say that I want to lose 80%, I am right on track, but if I say 100% my goal is correct, but I am slow to lose.
Doc's goal is 160 or less
80%
It says goal 182
I should now be less than 235
100%
It says goal 156
I should now be less than 222
I am currently 230
The most important thing to remember is that this isn't taking body and metobolic factors into account. Don't put too much stock into the number, look at it more as a guide, than a bible.
