How much can you eat?
Well...I guess I am eating more that most on this board...
Yesterday, I ate 1/2 of a Lean Pocket for breakfast, for lunch I ate one whole soft carne asada taco and the inside of another one, for dinner I ate 1 whole Alaskan King Crab leg....Whew...looking back this is a great deal less than what I formally ate...but alot more than I should eat at this stage
I always think I am eating to much too.
On a typical work day I will have
B - Low Carb Yogurt w/ small handful of Special K cereal mixed in for crunch.
S - 1/2 cup cottage cheese
L - 2 - 3 ounces of meat & cheese
S - cheese stick
D - Depends.... I love a good salad! (Never thought those words would come out of my mouth.)
S- Popcorn.... I KNOW I KNOW... but it has helped me stay regular.
I am down about 64 - 66 pounds. Started at 310 and scales today says 244.

Oh Boy, I think I'm eating way too much:
B- either CIB or slice of toast with cream cheese(7 grain toast)
S-lite n fit smoothie(yogurt)
L-1/2 turkey and cheese sandwich(1 slice 7 grain bread, 1 slice
turkey, 1/2 slice cheese, mustard)
S-some fruit or a v-8
D-usually chicken, veggies
S-sf popsicle
Am I eating too much? This is a typical day for me. This seems like a lot more food than everyone else is eating.
Any advice??

I have lost 49 1/2 lbs in 12 weeks - I'm allowed carbs but I am a junkie when it come to carbs so - I just don't eat them and I always get my water in a gallon a day. I hope this helps you out - keep doing what your dietican told you to do for the stage you are in,and walk or do some kind of exercise it will help. And remember don't be hard on yourself if you don't keep the numbers going down, our bodies are changing very fast. On days I don't feel like cooking for myself I drink all protien drinks and do my snacks. Take care - deb k.
I am so glad you asked this. I am thinking I am eating too much. I checked out a hospital website and they said we should be eating around 1300 calories. I don't do that yet. I had my surgery on 2/14/05 and things are going well. I definitely felt like I had hit a plateau for a few weeks. It was actually encouraging to hear so many of you have felt that way also. Maybe it is normal at about 3 months out. To date, I have lost 57.5 pounds. Everyone keep up the good work.
My surgery was 2/15 and to date I've lost 59 lbs. I average about 2 lbs. a week.
breakfast - 3 oz. yogurt or protein shake
lunch - 4 oz. of chili or pork n beans
snack - wheat pretzels or cashews
dinner - tuna or some sort of beans
snack - breyers sugar smart ice cream
I really don't get in as much protein as I probably should. I really got sick of the protein shakes, but on my doctor's advice, I've started them up again.
I noticed that about two weeks ago the same thing happened to me. I can eat a bit more. I think it is from the reduction in swelling, and the relaxation of the muscles. We are past the healing stage now.
I say, talk to your doc, and see what he says. Also, ask about having all those carbs. Most docs don't want that many carbs.

I had my surgery on 2/15/05 and I guess I still don't eat very much I skip breakfast 95% of the time I don't do lunch very often either and I don't much snack. Yesterday I had a 1/2 lean cuisine lasagna. The day before that I had a bowl of bean and bacon soup. Today I have had a few bites of chicken (did'nt go over very well) and i just had a bowl of bean and bacon soup. I think I get hungry about every 3 days. Some days I eat a little more but i think I am still on about 5 to 6 hundred calories a day. I drink water and coffee and when I am on the road I drink sf energy drinks that i let go mostly flat first. They have alot of vitamins in them.
