i have a question that i was ask and i dont know the answer to it but i go to the doctor on the 27th and i cna ask then but i was going to ask all you people i was ask about a breathing tube if anything happen to me but then i was to by one of them that after i had this surgery that they couldnt use a certain type of tube on me and i was wondering if anyone eles knew anything about it and if so what type of breathing tube is it that cant be use on me after having bypas?? i had ryn done if that makes any difference thank you for you help hugs kristie

Hi, Kristie. It's not a breathing tube they will be cautious about. It's the NG tube. That's a naso-gastric tube that goes through your nose and into your stomach. You can still have one (and may, after surgery), but they don't want people putting those in without knowing where and how small your stomach is. They aren't changing your throat or your lungs, so a breathing tube would be the same as before surgery. Good luck! Jeanie
