Finally got off my butt
I am training for a triathlon!
It's good for me because it's a finite goal (the race is October 16th) and it's swimming, biking and running - so I get to mix up my workouts a lot. I think I have exercise ADD, because I get bored easily. Lol!
I do a lot of walking/running, swimming, biking outside and spinning classes. I also mix that with strength training and the occasional yoga session, boxing, hiking, kayaking and playing basketball.
I try to exercise one hour five times a week plus just generally being active as much as possible, but don't always make it. This goal will be much easier when I finish graduate school in another five weeks. So right now I'm just building a general fitness base, and the real "training" starts after graduation.
I have heard great things about Curvies, though. Hope you have fun!

hi kia: curves is a great place. i was there for almost six months about two years ago. i like their routines.
sadly, i STILL am looking for an answer to the pain in my feet. i've tried all that i can think of and am seeing my podiatrist next tuesday. if i walk through the grocery store (to give you an idea of distance) my feet hurt enough to make me cry for the rest of the day. and that's with the orthotics in my shoes and a good 'shoe for walking' on my feet.
but i'm really happy for you. take care.

I bought a machine called the Cardio Cruiser - you may want to check into it - I have severe back problems and you get to sit on the machine. Check out HSN.com - they even have it on easy pay - $50 a month for 5 months. Here's the link....

Hey Kia,
I loved Curves too! I am now at the YMCA due to the fact that they have child care for my younger two...
They have a room that is alot like Curves except that they use weights instead of bands.
Good luck to you in your workouts, I know how hard it is to get going and making it a routine. I fight with myself everyday to go...
Keep up the great work!
