They're taking me off high blood pressure meds!!

Well, I've reached a BIG milestone. I had surgery on 2/23/05. Before the surgery my bp was always around 135/90 ish! I went to my PCP last week. My bp was 100/60. They said they think it's time to come off. I take 5 mg Norvasc daily. They told me to cut that in half for a week and then nothing the week after. They will check me again in 2 weeks. I hope this works. No more bp meds! I never thought I would see the day! I'm so happy I could cry. Maisy 265/219/?

Maisy, congratulations , it does feel like a miracle when we can so no more to meds. I was also on bp medicine and I was taken off mine also. Good for you!!! My surgery was 2/22/05. I was on 2 BP meds. I am now on just one and my BP is in better control now than it was before surgery taking 2 meds! Jean

Maisy, Isn't it so exciting! I was on blood pressure medication prior to surgery and I was told not to take them anymore after surgery. They monitored my pressure while I was in the hospital and it was fine. My blood pressure has been ever since. I just know that you will be fine too! Best wishes! Diana
