Anyone else?
Hi Lori,
I just found this forum. The exact same thing has been happening to me. I thought I was failing! I was losing daily for the first month. I feel like it has slowed down considerably. I spoke with a woman in my Dr's office. She told me that people who have less weight to lose will lose it more slowly. I felt so much better after that. I feel like I wait sometimes 5-6 days and no weight loss. I guess we're fine. It will come. Just not as fast as some. As long as it goes down and not up!!!

I am very depressed about my losses. I know I have a fluid retention problem and part of it is fluid. I go down then back up, and keep repeating the cycle. I'm getting in the protein, fluid and vitamins. I measure, weigh, and track my calories, carbs, etc. I don't use salt and take my prescription fluid pills daily. I just can't make any sense out of it.

HI Lori:
that sounds almost exactly like what i've been seeing. it had to happen eventually. but it sure is hard to watch. i haven't seen a weight gain yet, at least not since surgery, but i'm sure i will some day. hope i don't wig out. maybe i'll just stay away from the scale that particular month of the week.
please don't let it derail you. you'll be fine, you know. just keep the faith, OK?
take care

Thanks everyone for the responses. Its hard to deal with, but good to know that there are others out there dealing with it too. Its just frustrating not seeing the loss daily....like so many do. I have not experienced a gain yet.....but I imagine that should that happen, I will probably cry enough to loose the gain....lol!
ME, ME, ME! Hey Lori, I am experiencing the same things as you, I just this morning finally moved 1.4 lbs. in 8 days, yes 8 d*%n days .
But is was a wonderful 1.4 lbs. because I am in Onderland this morning. I was stuck at 200 lbs. for 8 days and felt like you know what.
Don't get discouraged, we will get there it just takes a time. We all want to get there quickly, just remember we didn't get where we were/are in a couple of months and it will take some time to get where we want to be.

Hey Lori,
I've gone thru that since this process began. I'll lose 4 lbs in a week and think everything is finally starting to move quicker and then the next week comes and the scale "forgets" to move. It's a roller coaster ride in every way. I thought that maybe since I started off a little lighter than most I would lose slower. I've since discovered it has nothing to do with that. It's determined by your pre-op eating habits. I was that girl that only ate once a day and it was usually fast food of some sort. So now that I'm not eating as much, my body doesn't care cause it's not used to lots of food anyway. I'm now eating more often and hopefully that will help. These ups and downs are wild! Good luck in you journey.

I have one piece of advice for anyone who wants to listen to me.
GET OFF THE SCALE! LOL
You will make yourself crazy if you get on the scale every day. I weigh myself every week at the MOST. I'm trying to get to a point where I weigh myself every other Sunday. Weighing myself on this schedule makes sure I see good loss every weigh-in. The last time I got on the scale was 4/I8 and I had dropped from 368.2 to 363 (since 4/7). If I had been weighing every day, it wouldn't have shown much if anything daily, but since I waited 11 days before weigh-in I got to see a drop of 5.2 lbs. See what I mean?
Georgia Girl...
I agree with Marion...if you go back a few posts...you will see that I griped about the same thing NOT LOSING FAST ENOUGH!
I was so bummed that for two weeks I didn't lose not one pound Then I went to see my Dietician and he gave me some valuable advice
Stop weighing yourself everyday or every week for that matter
Concentrate on getting your eating habits together, drink your protein and water, and exercise...You will lose the weight! You WILL!
But this isn't a tale ride here...we must remember that our bodies are trying to adjust and regulate...you will have days, weeks even months of not loosing...just concentrate on following the doctor's advice and you will do just fine! Promise!
I know that it is frustrating...but oh so worth all of the frustration!
Take Care.
