Update: pounds, inches and jeans....
My weight loss continues to be very slow. I burn over 500 calories at the gym every day, and try to eat right at 1200 calories daily. If I go below that the losing stops. I lost 24 [I started at 314 pounds] pounds before surgery on 2/8/05, and about 28 pounds since surgery. Working out has slowed the weight loss, and slowed the inches I am losing, too.
People are starting to notice the weight loss, which helps. I wore a very tight size 26 jeans at 314 pounds, and am starting to get into some size 26 jeans that were too small, and some size 24 jeans. I went to Wal-Mart the other day and got a pair of size 22 jeans to use as a goal. They fit perfectly! I think I am losing from the stomach, more than the waist.
How is everyone else doing?? How is the eating going? I have a few times from eating too much or too fast, but I have been able to tolerate verything quite well.

Hi Ruth. Thanks for the update. You're doing really well, IMO. I'm going to use your post as inspiration since I haven't lost a lb. now for about a week or more and I haven't kept track of calories taken in since the surgery. Maybe if I up the exercise and the food it will happen, huh.?
I started out at 440. Have lost 60 lbs since 2/8/5. And I have no idea how many inches since I never measured myself to begin with. I can talk in clothes sizes, though. I started with a snug 30/32. Now they're mostly loose or I've stopped wearing the really baggy ones. My top half has always been slightly smaller than my bottom half and I'm finding that's still the case.
so far, I haven't thrown up. But I've wished I could - several times now. Usually when I eat too fast or if I eat red meat. I tried to have a brat on Saturday - talk about an experience in yuck!!! Everything else is good. Again, thanks for the post. And congrats on your success.

I have avoided all sweets/sugars so I have not dumped but I think other then that I can eat too much sometimes. Only twice have I eaten a bit too much and rocked to ease the pressure, but even that was awhile ago. I have not thrown up in over a month. For lunch yesterday, my husband took me to Cheddars. He ordered a plate of various goodies (chicken strips, potato skins, and something mexican (ground beef, melted cheese and diced tomatoes all melted on a half a taco shell). I ordered a cesar chicken salad. I had one bite of a chicken strip, one bite of the potato skin, I ate one of the mexican thingies and had one bite of my salad. After typing it, it doesn't sound like I ate all that much but at the time I felt I was pigging out. Ah, for another example, I can eat about 1/2 to 2/3 of a large Wendys chili. Maybe since it's mushy it slides thru the pouch basically. Anyway, I am at 231 down from 284. So, things are going well

Since I finally had my endoscopy last week, and my stoma dilated, I have stopped
It's amazing how much not throwing up 1-8x a day makes a difference. My Dr. thought I was nuts when I told him I wasn't losing weight fast enough because I wasn't getting in enough food. He said more calories = less weight lost. But ha-ha now that I stopped I have been losing so much faster! I've been getting 800-900 cals a day and I finally broke the 300 lb mark, going from 341 to 298. That's big stuff for me. The Dr. seems to think I'm making great progress, but I am anxious to lose more.
I haven't lost any sizes per se, but I can fit into clothes I haven't been able to wear in a while. Including blue jeans...those things were torture before WLS. My cottage cheese legs are driving me nuts...it seems plastic surgery is in my future. I can't imagine these thighs are going to rebound well. I figure if I can do PS on my arms and thighs before I have babies, I'll worry about my tummy and breasts later.
As I'm sitting here, I'm noticing that the arms on my desk chair aren't digging into my thighs like they used to...what a nice change. I used to have red dents in my thighs after an 8 hr. shift. I guess I have to admit that WLS is actually working...

My eating is going okay, im supposed to eat 5-6 2oz portions a day... i cant seem to get that in, i get in like 3-4 :X but i know im getting my protien in because i start the day of with basically 44g of it from my breakfast drink and unjury, i have yet to dump becausei refuse to try anything with sugar in it, i havent passed the like 4-5g of sugar, lol. I have exeprinced the "joys" of eating to fast, but that was a while ago...mmm bbq chicken, lol. I basically tolerate everything well, the only thing i found so far that i dont tolerate is the canned chicken, that makes me feel horrable, so no more of that stuff for me :D
