Well, I went for my first post-op yesterday (my gastric was Feb. 28th, but all my other stuff kept me in the hospital for 3 weeks) and I am down 40lbs. BUT.....my waist is not going anywhere. I had just went up to a size 26 pants prior to surgery, and the 24's I could still get in were TIGHT. Well, I tried a pair of my 24's today and they fit perfectly *sigh* I was thinking I would at LEAST be in 22's by now. I don't know where the heck those 40 lbs fell off of.... Since I still have a partially open incision from my subsequent surgery, exercise is still pretty much out of the question. Anyone else noticed weird weight loss areas? Steph in Alabama
I had my surgery on 2/24/05 and still find that I am in a larger size than need be due to swelling or something on my left side of my abdomen.
My pants that I wear look baggy on the butt and the thighs, but if I go to the size I need for those area's, I can't button them. Go figure?
I am sure it will all even out in the long run. Just think of it this way, isn't it a good feeling to have to even wonder of this weight loss. I was to a point prior to surgery that I would never be able to lose weight again!
Good Luck!

Hello Stephy:
I had my surgery on Feb. 2,. Iv'e learned that I'm a slow looser, but anyway to your question about weird weight loss areas. I have lost 4 inches on my left arm and only 1/2 inch on my tummy.......it is so frustrating cause I want to get rid of that mid section blubber.
Just hang in there....it'll come off.

I'm down 55 lbs in 7 weeks and still wear the same clothes. It's amazing how far in each direction these knits will go! They are getting baggy, but I figure I'll get a couple of more weeks out of them. And they range from 26/28 down to 24/26. . . Must have really had those suckers stretched out! I do notice that they are getting longer!!Figure once the weather gets warm I'll want something shorter and lighter. I also notice that I can fasten my bra a notch tighter.
