Hi everyone! I found this room by accident and for the life of me I don't know why I never thought of checking it out before this. lol I had my surgery on Feb. 7th. and I guess I'm doing ok so far. I don't get any exercise at all because of my weight and my bad knees so maybe that's why I'm not losing much? I did lose alot at first but it was mostly water retention I think from the bags of fluid they pumped into me after surgery. After reading some of your posts I see we are alot alike with our scales at a standstill. I sure do get depressed every morning and every night when I get weighed. There's just no way I can stop myself from jumping on that scale either. I know it's not good to be always weighing myself BUT I can't help it. lol Anyone else have that problem? Feel free to e-mail me if ya want. I love to talk and this is my favorite subject. Take care Debbie

Hi ya Debbie. Welcome to the Board. Its been slow around here for a while...but its starting to pick up. I think that we are all realizing that we have a lot in common...and a lot to learn from each other. I am 4 weeks and 2 days out...and down about 34 pounds. I thought it would come off much quicker, as that I lost 18 pounds in the first 10 days! I guess I can't...and won't complain. I am just glad its coming off! But occasionally...when I read posts about people that have lost 45-50 pounds in a month....I am so jealous....LOL! Glad you found us.....hope to hear from you again soon. Lori

Hi Debbie, I am also new and found the site by accident! I am now 7 weeks post op had my surgery on Feb 10th. Im down 42 lbs and too had that standstill feeling at first. I was told by my doctor it depends on the density of the persons body too. If you have a whole lot of "flab" (who doesn't) it comes off fast at first and then tapers off. Who the heck knows! Just don't give up. We are in this thing together for the long haul and there is a bright, sexy and slimmnig light at the end this tunnel. Child, I thought I was gonna fall out trying on a size 18/20 dress for easter and it fit! From Walmart no less! Coming from a tight 26/28 I was in dream land. Keep in touch! Saida

Hi Debbie, So glad you found us! This board is a good place to come, we have shared sorrows, triumphs, and even food ideas! It seems as most of us lost quickly at first then tappered off, but it seems as though we are all starting to move down again. I had surgery on 2/24/05 and have lost 27lbs. I am thrilled with the loss as I haven't lost that much weight in a long time and when I did it took about 7-8 months to do! I have lost inches also. I know one thing, I personally have got to get busy with exercising, no more excuses! Have a wonderful day and we are so glad your here... Huggs, Sharon 212/185/???

Debbie, welcome to the boards. You will find such nice, friendly encouraging people that are here to help you. I am so addicted to OH that it is pathetic (I don't even want to clean my house, lol). Again welcome, oh and stay of the scales. I to have that problem and I continue to fight it but at least I'm not on it 3-4 times a day any more. Dana
