Hi Everyone!
I'm feeling pretty bad because I haven't posted on this board at all. I've been spending all of my time on the TX message board. I think I probably need to spend as much time here talking to those who are at the same place I am in this whole process. I went Thursday (3/24) for my 6 week check up and all was good - I'd lost 42 pounds (I'm up to 45 now). However, that night, I took about two bites of my dinner and was in so much pain I thought I was gonna die! My DH called my surgeon and he said if it didn't go away, to go to the ER. Well, I got sick, my BP shot up to 151/109, and the pain stayed. So, we went to the ER where I ended up getting Xrayed, CT Scanned and finally they admitted me so that they could scope me and see if I had a stricture. By the time they finally did the scope on Saturday morning, I was feeling much better (I was also severely dehydrated and my potassium was low). The scope showed that all was OK, so apparently it was just the chicken that had gotten stuck. I got lots of fluides via IV and some yummy potassium to drink, so all is better now. I've just taken it slow and soft for the past two days.
Anyway, I'll be visiting here more often and look forward to getting to know some of you.
p.s. If anyone else is a sweet tea fanatic like me - Red Diamond makes a tea that is sweetened with Splenda and it's decaf. YUMMY!!!! I think it's gonna make getting my fluids in much easier for me!
