Grocery Shopping....

YUCK! My husband has been doing most of the shopping, but I consented to go myself today......oh it was terrible. Before surgery, I could plan meals for my family, and have a buggy filled and out of the store lickety split.....not now. Everything I came across looked terrible to me.....and I guess its because I have no appetite. I spent 1 1/2 hours and came out with very little. Has anyone else become this way. I have only done the shopping twice before this, since surgery....and was not like this then....what's going on?

Lori, I can so relate to your experience. I also do not have an appetite and do not even want to go grocery shopping. I actually get nauseous just thinking about food. I haven't been sick yet, thank God, I just don't like the smell and taste of food. It is so weird how my attitude toward food has changed. I let my husband do the shopping right now, I figured if he and the kids wanted to eat, he better shop, lol. I understand it gets better, I'll wait and see. Good luck and best wishes on your journey. My daughter, who was shopping with me, looked in my cart and told me if I lived by myself, my food bill would be next to nothing. I work in the deli at that same store, and when I came back to work the girls were telling me how my husband kept coming back and asking them where to find stuff, so it's better I do the shopping myself. I'm lucky. My hubby usually did most of the shopping anyway. I'm sure our grocery bill is smaller now that I'm eating next to nothing.

Its good to know that I am not alone ladies. LOL..... Its really funny...I swear, and this is the honest truth....we have three boys ages 11,9,7....and they eat like there is no tomorrow....of course they are little bean poles too...but they go through a jar of peanut butter in about 4-5 days....apples...bananas...grapes (they love them frozen), string cheese, pastrami, graham crackers, and I swear a gallon of milk a day......our grocery bill has always been about $150 a week....for a couple years....and its not changed a bit....I guess the stuff I am buying less of is not mattering because I am buying more of stuff like cottage cheeses, yogurts, shrimp.... I am just gonna make a list for hubby from now on....its too stressful for me to do it. lol
