3 weeks...still nothing!
Why?? I just don't understand. I'm so upset about this. I feel like I did this for nothing. And now there's no going back.
I just don't know what else to do. I stayed off the scales, like everyone told me to. And just kept doing what I was supposed to do. Almost 2 weeks later...still nothing. And actually when I got on the scale this morning I was back at 267. The same weight I was on 03/4/05.
Sooo...essentially I haven't lost any weight in 3 weeks....or even gained 2 pounds.
It's hard seeing everyone else losing and me just staying where I am.
I so want to cry.
Cassandra
Hi Cassandra.....I am so sorry about what is going on w/ you. Have you talked to your doctor? What about your protein and water? Are you getting enough? I have heard other post-ops say that if we don't get in what we need, our bodies go into starvation mode, and hold on to every calorie and nutrient that goes in. I hope something changes for you soon. I know its tough...but hang in there....its got to change eventually.
Cassandra:
I had my surgery on 1/25 and I went through a period of not losing, just like you are going through now. My advice to you is simple: do some sort of activity (walking, riding bike, etc) for 30 mins every day, drink your water, get your protein in. You WILL see a loss pretty soon. Please remember that you gave your body a big shock and give it time to adjust and start losing.
Keep me posted.
Ms. Sassy
hey Cass
take a breath and relaxxxxxxxxx! hehe ...gurl, we share the same surgery date and im tellin' ya, i just went through what you are goin' through and the scale has started moving again!! there is hope
make sure you are gettin' your protein in, drinking plenty of fluids, not jus****er...anything that you can tolerate that is s/f and decaf ..tropicana s/f fruit punch is my FAVORITE right now...drink drink drink!
i went through a period of almost three weeks of nothing ...stayed the same or gained and lost to the same weight ...was frustrating ...but STAY FOCUSED AND THINK POSITIVELY! after all that time waiting..ive lost 6 pounds this week alone, so hang in there, gurlie
take care and keep your chin up

Same thing happened to me, but I really think they made a mistake. 2 wks after surgery, they said I'd lost over 30 lbs., which they thought was rare. 4 weeks after surgery, they said I'd put a pound back on. I told them I did not believe it because I was starving. I really think they made a mistake.
hi cassandra:
everyone else here is giving you great advise. hang in there, check with your dr., get some exercise, drink some water...
also, you may want to consider that alot of us have more weight to lose so it's going to come off more easily. you're at 267. i have to lose almost that much to get at goal. it's all relative.
i'm sure it will start happening for you soon. keep the faith.
take care

I haven't lost anything in nearly 2 weeks. I think I'm not eating enough and my body goes into the starvation mode. I really do try to eat more, but can't seem to get in more than 500-600 calories a day. Just doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day to eat and drink water. I tried to do six small meals yesterday, but ended up dumping on water--water of all things!! It happened about 4 hours after I had eaten anything and since water was all that came up, at least my lunch got through my stomach. I wait 30-60 minutes after eating to drink water and when I do it feels like someone has my chest in a vise. So, I'll quit drinking and eating, which doesn't help any. That was yesterday and today I have had no problems. I figure as my stomach heals and I can handle more food (read calories), I will start losing again. They keep telling me you have to eat more to lose.

Cassandra - I went through the same thing. I lost 30 pounds in two weeks, and then I went almost three weeks without losing anything. The scales bounced up and down between 267 and 270 (must be something about that # - 267!). Then in the next 12 days, I lost 15 pounds. It finally took my husband telling me that there is no way I was gaining weight - we cannot possibly eat enough right now to gain. Keep in mind that during the time I lost no weight - I lost 13 inches. That can also help keep you motivated.....take your measurements.
Don't cry - just try to up your water and protein intake......I know that is easier said than done. If I get in one, I don't get the other - I've got to figure out a way to do both. Anyway - we're all in this together!
Hugs,
Wendy

Cassandra-
I had surgery two days before you. I lost 20 lbs in two weeks, and then NADA. (Adding insult to injury, I also had a trip to the ER for dehydration and a scope revealing a stricture !)
I have JUST resumed losing weight a couple of days ago. Let me tell you, to say I was frustrated was an understatement!
Hang in there, sweetie!
Hugs,
Aly
