need some moral or spiritual support here...
good morning all:
i'm very sad today. my 42 year old brother died last night of a heart attack. he suffered for several years from a rare muscular disease and had a seizure in the middle of the night. that prompted the heart attack.
he leaves behind a wife, no kids. he was probably the nicest guy you ever knew. i'm not sure what else to say. any words of wisdom to help me understand would be so great.
thanks.

Oh Dorthe,
I am so sorry to hear about your brother. My prayers will be with your family and his wife. I can't imagine what she must be feeling right now too. Keep the wonderful memories of him alive in your heart and mind, and know that he is happy and pain free in Heaven now. Something that helped my husband and I when we lost someone dear to us was to plant a blooming tree, each time it blooms it just touches our hearts and keeps the nice memories fresh.
Sincerely,
Sharon
Dorthe-
I can't begin to imagine your pain over your brother's passing. I am 41 and I have one sister who is 44. I can't imagine how devistated I would be if I were to lose her, especially near a holiday. The positive things I would like for you to remember is that he died on Good Friday, just like Jesus. And, like Jesus, he also will be re-born in Heaven. The other thing is that having spent several years suffering from the muscular disease, he is now out of the body that stopped serving him and is now re-born into a new body that will never fail him.
Take this time and feel sad for having lost his physical presence in your world, but take comfort from the fact that your love for him and your memories of him will enable him to always be with you. I believe that our loved ones are always watching over us from Heaven, reunited with loved ones previously lost, until it is our time to join them there.
Also... remember that we are always here for you if you need someone to talk to. I will say a prayer for you, his wife and the rest of your brother's loved ones.

I lost my brother on 4/25/93. My world crumbled.
One day some people came to the master
and asked: How can you be happy
in a world of such impermanence,
where you cannot protect your loved ones
from harm, illness or death?
The master held up a glass and said:
Someone gave me this glass;
It holds my water admirably
and it glistens in the sunlight.
I touch it and it rings!
One day the wind
may blow it off the shelf,
or my elbow
may knock it from the table.
I know this glass is already broken,
so I enjoy it -- incredibly.
