Do you eat out?
Lori,
I have went out a few times to eat. I was very nervous that something might not sit right while I was there.
I find I have alot more time to talk to everyone while they are eating and I'm picking trying to make the little bit last longer.
I actually tried a Fiesta Taco Salad from Taco Bell the other night. I counldn't eat much of it, but it sure was tasty. (It also helped me with my new problem, constipation)
I have ordered the fish or soup most of the time. I am still afraid to try beef in public. I think I will have a hard time with it and am a baby to try. I have not had any problem with any types of food but only need to pace myself better and not such big bites.
Easter dinner should be interesting?
Good Luck! Let us know how it goes!

went out for lunch for the first time yesterday to a local Thai restaurant that I love - had stir fried chichen with broccoli & carrots & rice - when I was done, it didn't look like I had eaten anything, but what I had was WONDERFUL!!!! - except later in the day, when I ate again I couldn't keep it down - gross - I think I was too optimistic with the veggies at lunch.
had Wendy's chili last weekend - Food of The gods!!!!! it's the little things in life.
good luck on your journey Lori

mICHeLLe,
I'm 5 wks post-op and can eat just about anything, except too much sugar or grease. I can tolerate the toughest of food and the driest of food. The trick for me is to just chew chew chew. I don't eat chicken salad anymore because I don't know how to make it myself and the pre-packaged ones are loaded with fat!
I can also eat at any restaurant without any problem. I really don't notice any changes in my ability to eat except for the fact that I can only take in a fraction of a portion. Let me list some things I've tried:
1 piece popcorn- no problem
potatoes:mashed,scalloped, country fried-no problem
eggs:scrambled, poached, boiled-no problem(except I had an over-cooked rubbery egg once and got SiCk!
chicken:boiled,baked,grilled(El Pollo Loco),bbq-no problem
beef:steak,grilled,stir-fry w/ vegetables-no problem
pork:bbq, stir-fry, pan fried, bbq-no problem (but yuck! It grosses me out now)
seafood-shrimp, squid, fish (never thought would EVER become a fav food), octopus, crab salad-no problem (just so chewy you have to work the jaw off)
1 spoon of rice-no problem
3 bites of bread-no problem just very filling
Applebee's "pizza" tortilla appetizer- made me SiCk! too much grease!
soup-matzo ball(ver filling), cream of brocolli, vegetable beef,clam chowder,chicken noodle-no problem
cereal w/ no fat milk-made me SiCk! (too much sugar in milk and cereal)
Pretty much because I have a limited size portion, I choose to eat only food that is worth eating now. I don't like meat at ALL anymore. Tastes like cardboard once you break it down to the right consistency, but I take it in for the protein. I LOVE seafood because the first bite tastes like the last. I have eaten at many a restaurants with no problem. I just eat whatever the boyfriend has ordered.
APPLEBEES, CHILI'S, DENNY'S, EL TORITO, MARIE CALENDARS, CHICKEN N RIBS, EL POLLO LOCO, HOMETOWN BUFFET just to name a few.
WENDY'S has the MOST amazing CHILLI! But It made me a little nauseted(is that how you spell that?!) I think it has a little to much sugar for me.
