Hi There Dorthe, and welcome! Sorry about the leg. Could not imagine being post-op from this surgery, and having a leg in a cast! for some reason....I always have had a hard time getting yogurt in. I think it is because I really hate that aspartame taste.....it leaves such an after taste that is yucky.... Maybe I will try again though...since our taste changes so much after surgery. Sounds like you are doing well though....if you have any tips or suggestions...please...share. I think that we are all in need! Glad to have met you Dorthe.....hope to hear from you again. Lori

Lori, Just read about your dislike for yogurt because of the aftertaste. I know what you mean! Try Blue Bunny Yogurt. It is sweetened with splenda and very good to taste! It's a treat to have one of them a day! I purchase mine at Walmart. I hope you like them. Diana

I'll be 6 weeks out on Saturday and I've hit a plateau for the last week, so I've stopped weighing. I don't need the stress. I had some pretty bad nausea from weeks 3-4, so my protein intake wasn't good at all. I finally found a protein drink recipe that I like, so now I'm getting in plenty. I've been getting lots of fluids in, that hasn't been a problem, thankfully. I like Crystal Light and Fruit2O. Sometimes I even drink plain old water. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever be able to eat all the protein I need. Not much protein sounds good to me right now. Jeanie

I drink two protein shakes a day with crushed ice added. Most meat tastes like cardboard to me. I also find that I get a lot of water down by keeping a glass of crushed ice with me. I like having something to crunch on! Don't know what it is doing to my teeth but I'll worry about that later. I also love the Crystal Light Iced Tea. I'm still not getting enough calories in. Just about 400 a day. And, I'm lazy. I need to get my big butt in gear and really start exercising. My promise to myself is to get going next week. I've been thinking of joining "For Women Only" a women's gym. I need to quit thinking about it and do it! I feel very good, am down 45.5 lbs (top weight 377) and feel so much better than I did right before surgery. Best wishes, Karen

This has been my biggest problem! I drink 1-2 protein shakes a day usually just 1. This is a typical day for me B-protein shake L-usually go out with friends from work so have to find something on the menu. Try to get eggs or chicken or burger without the bun D- Chicken and couple bites of salad or refried beans with cheese or wendy's chili is the best I can eat almost a whole small (16oz) I find I can't eat a snack even though I'm starving or I wont get enough fluids since you're supposed to not drink 30 min before and 30 min after a meal. I'm only getting in 32-50 oz of fluid a day and it's hard to do that. It still hurts to drink water sometimes (the Dr said it is spasms) I don't like Crystal lite SF kool aid or fruit 2o it is all too sweet. I can eat just about anything with no problem while I'm eating but everytime I eat I feel like crap after for about an hour or two. Just like I'm stuffed and miserable and i eat 1/2 to 1 cup and that is it. I've tried eating less and still feel that way but also feel hungry if that makes any sense. Wendy's chili is the only thing I can eat and still feel great after. Janice 2/23/05 258/227/150(my goal Dr didn't give me one)
